Ticket Kids for Disrupting Class?

Article posted March 12, 2011 at 06:45 PM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 3674

More on the issue
Some school districts in Texas have police officers write tickets to students who disrupt class, skip school, or misbehave in other ways. Kids can be sent to court and face fines of up to $500. Some people think this is fair punishment that troublemakers will learn from quickly. Others say that it's not right to punish kids in the same way as adults. What do you think?

Silly Bandz—the colorful wristbands kids have gone crazy for—have been banned in many schools. Many educators say the wristbands are a major distraction. They say kids are playing with and trading them while in class. But some adults and kids think banning the wristbands is silly. They say Silly Bandz are a harmless fashion choice. What do you think? Should schools ban Silly Bandz?
