Letter to Sharon Creech
Name:_____________________________
You are going to write a letter to Sharon Creech, author of Love That Dog and Hate That Cat. You will organize your letter in a three-paragraph organizational pattern.
In the 1st paragraph you will compliment the author by citing at least one specific element of their writing style that you liked. What features of the books had a positive impact on you as a reader.
In the 2nd paragraph you will question the author on any thing that was confusing in the books or ask why she decided to write what she wrote. You are required to identify at least one specific dislike.
In the 3rd paragraph, you will offer suggestions to assist the author in improving his or her writing. You could tell them how to make the story better for other readers.
Remember, your tone should be considerate of the author. The author is most likely to listen and respond when you speak considerately.

Here's the assignment:
1. Choose one of your favorite things about December or the holidays.
2. Come up with five sentences to describe your mystery item. Be sure to vary your sentence structure (Simple, Compound and Complex). Use your five senses to help you make your clues.
3. You will create a voki and then try to guess each other's mystery items in the comments sections of each blog!
Here is an example I made.
