This course was considerably better than i was expecting it to be i must say. What i liked most about the course was the lyrics assignments in the place of poetry, genius really. I also like how you actually made the effort to help us if we ran into any snags along the way, I know i appreciate it and im sure others do as well. I must say the thing i hated was essay writing but there is no way to make that better. I just always seem to have to much to say and not enough organisation to get it out in proper format. That has always been a bit of a trouble spot for me and for the record i think if i were better at it, I wouldnt hate it so much. I have gained a greater understanding of what a difference teaching styles and a possitive attitude can make on how well you do. Saying that i now hope i dont tank the final exam, just kidding. I only wish we couldve done even more of the lyrics portion of the course and i am really upset with myself that i missed the class when everyone did there presentations. The course did and didnt meet my expectations but in a positive way. We did lots of essays which i expected but it was done in such a better way that it exceeded my expectations. To be honest im not sure i met the goals i set out for myself at the beginning if the course its to early to tell, there is too much left to get done in this class first. Just sayin. I do feel that i am well on my way to accompoishing it though.

the thing that matters most in my life hands down is family. i happpen to have a great family where we all care about each other very much and would do whatever we could to help each other out. i recently was wrongfully dismissed from my job and when i got home i was a "little" angry you could say so i posted on facebook what had happened. well right away i started getting messages from all my cousins asking if i was ok and if i needed to talk or there was anything they could do for me. then i got a message asking if i was at home, i said i was. all of a sudden my cousin and my brother show up at my house with a case. they had taken the rest of the day off work just so they could come and cheer me up.
then there was another time when that same cousin was going through a rough time because she bought a house and was struggling to make the payments and we were all going out together the day before my brothers wedding. she refused to come out because she said she couldnt afford it and then stopped responding to texts from all of us. so we showed up at her house and forced her to come out with us, we wouldnt take no for an answer and a great time was had by all.

The reasons that effective planning is so important when you are writing an assay are as follows. You need to research your topic so that you know what your talking about, otherwise you could wind up sounding like an idiot. So you can make sure that you put things in the proper order or the right timeline. You want to make sure that all your spelling and punctuation is correct. If you don't you could loose focus of what your trying to accomplish and end up way off topic. To ensure that your text reaches out to your target audience. Make sure you can keep the interest of your target audience. That is my humble opinion of why you need proper planning when writing an essay.

one interesting fact for me was finding out that wikipedia is just a collection of random opinions and not more structured. it makes me wonder now how much of that iss actually true and how much you can trust it. i never used it to begin with really exept maybe for the odd definition here or there. todays class did however prove to me that reserching your sources is actually kind of a big deal. i would hate to source something and develop an opinion and then be completely wroung because the one that i sourced is an idiot or trying to be a comedian. on a positive note one thing that i thought was really cool today was when someone said that when you come up with a text about something it eventually fades in time but if you post it online it lasts forever.

the goals that i had set for myself in this class were actually quite simple, PASS. As i have always struggled in english class becausei suck at writing essays as youve noticed im sure. But im actually getting into it this time around getting things done and really putting in the effort. So now my expectations have changed to wanting to do well and not just get by and im not sure if its because of the way this class is going with the differrent style of learning where its not just the same old blah blah blah. i really like the music instead of poetry aspect i think that was awesome. Sorry to dissapoint but i really am just here to get my diploma, no plans of secondary school or entering any field of work that is related to it in any way shape or form. I will say that i will abe reading more from here on out but will be very glad to stop writing about my feelings on everything I read. My real plan is to get on with CN but in order to do that i need my grade twelve diploma, however while im there training to be an electrician i would like to do the correspondance to become a CGA and maybe some of this will help me with that.

i personally dont like this lyric because it doesnt really make any sense to me. i picture a guy on his hands and knees over top of a broken bulb sifting through the broken glass trying not to get cut, looking for the fillament.it makes me think about someone sifting through their past which is why i dont think it really makes sense to me. it makes me feel pity because if your looking for something to light up the rest of your life you should be looking to the future and forget about the past. past is past for a reason sometimes.the phrase i chose is from the song beverly hill by wheezer "I want to live a life like that, I want to be just like a king, take my picture by the pool cuz im the next big thing". I chose this insert strictly on the merit of entertainment it is an enjoyable song very pleasant and happy. I also find it ironic when famous musicians sing about how they wish they were famous like they were regular people. plus me and my friends always make like were the next big thing when ever this song comes on and it is quite simply hilarious.

the first thing i did to get started on the major writing assignment was go thru the list of different texts that we have done in this class. i labeled all of them by what i thought they were about. then i chose the one idea that i felt i would be able to find the most to talk about and that i can relate some sort of text from my own experiances and that is of at least of some sort of interest to me and was found in the most texts. i actually had no idea where to start and i was really stuck so i asked jody for advice. then all i did was start writing about all the ideas i had in my head and it just kept coming. i have to admit i was really worried about the length of this assignment but now it looks like im gonna have to trim it down go figure.

for the oral assignment i just went over what i could talk about a few times in my head and then i winged it.i maintained eye contact and spoke clearly to ensure i got my point across. i was not entirely happy with my presentation. i tend to ramble sometimes and i caught myself throwing out alot of ums in there which must be distracting to the listener. to correct it i think i would have to practice it more and maybe make sure i actually have a better idea of what im gonna say written down. i personaly feel if i was a better ortist i couldve portrayed my ideas a little better.

for me the times i use those thinking skills are when we are bowling or at football for just a couple examples. when we play football im always citique my teammates and tell them what they are doing wrong. then i give them ideas of how to do it better or mabe givee examples of how i would have done it. then i make sure and give them some praise to make sure they know they are doing it better.in bowling its the same i like to tell them what they are doing wrong like if their in the wrong spot then where they should move or how to properly hold the ball.or maybe they just need to fix their epuipment.i think that being a teacher would be one example where all those would be apparent because you would need to use critical thinking when you are marking someones work. the creative part i guess would come when you were trying to set up your lesson plan in a way to keep everyones attention so like keep it exciting.
being constructive would be when you help them or give them advise when they are struggling.

the final text that i created was still along the same lines i just didnt make as big of a joke about it as the original quthor. i chose the one about the possibility of a hockey lockout.i changed the audiance i was going after, the purpose and the form of the text. my final product was an article in essay form tat was done to inform more than entertain.i chose to change the purpose because i myself felt he had little to no idea about what he was talking about. i changed the form to make it appear more proffesional. i changed the audiance because i had to to accomadate the other changes and i didnt think it was a topic to be layed out so childish.

first impressions

My first impression of this class was that its not gonna be as bad as i thought, no offense i just always struggled in english as you oill no doubtedly realise by the caliber of my assignments. I must admit the class is alot younger then i was expecting but everyone is really cool including the techers. so far i find the work to be challenging but not out of my ability. I wonder however if it is just because of all the life experience ive accumulated over the last 20 or so years since i was in school. I totally find it easier this time around and i think its because i have so much more to reference from. This year i plan on showing up to class everyday which was an issue first time around. i will also try and do all the assignments they are given and try not to leave thing till the last minute. I will do my best to pay attention and get help if i need it.

my favorite movie is conan the barbarian. It is because it has violence humour a good story and a good back story it also has some hidden meanings that not everyone picks up on.
