Nelson Mandella Quote

The quote "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
To me, this means that Nelson Mandela tried as hard as he could to get the right education to become the first black president of South America. I sent this to my cousin in Canada. I sent it to him because he is happy with his average grades. I hope that sending this to him helped him realize that if he uses the knowledge he possesses, he can have whatever job he wants.

I am really loving this book Hero. I really like how the author writes in Sean's perspective about what he likes and doesn't. This book is way better than last years book. It has dialogue and has an actual storyline. I like the fact that in the book, he is in close age proximity to us, so we can relate to what he is thinking. I just hope we will get the book soon.

A day at International Towne

At I-Towne, I learned a lot of things. I learned that you should exchange all of your money needed to get certain things in a country. I think this was a great experience to see how the world is interdependent on itself. I think they could have changed the rules a bit so you could eat anywhere in the world. My favorite part was being a tribunal member because I was like the judge of I-Towne. It was fun because if someone was innocent, you could get "mad" at the officers for not providing good enough evidence.

I thought it was very interesting looking at something you are usually digesting. It was really cool to see all of the different muscles, tendons, and cartilage in the chicken wing. I learned that if you pull on the bicep of the chicken, the triceps in the chicken contract, making the wing appear outstretched. I think it was worthwhile because it was a great way to see how each part of the body has a specific job to do. When we were cutting, we accidentally cut a vein, so chicken blood got all over our gloves. It was pretty disgusting. In conclusion, I learned that the very delicious chicken wing has many functions that help it move. I do wonder though if this would work on a cooked chicken wing.

I am really pumped about going to I-Towne!!! I can't wait to see all the cool countries that are spread out around I-Towne. I applied for the President of Brazil. I believe I am the best candidate because I was the mayor of young ameritowne so I would have plenty of experience. I would also like to be one of the customs agents in any of the countries.I am really looking forward to this field trip because I think it will show some of the diversity in some country's more than other. Overall, I am really looking forward to going to I-Towne

My overall reaction of the movie Little Rock Nine is really, I am amazed at the bravery and courage of the nine black students that went to Central High School. If I were in their steps, I don't think that I would have the courage to go into that school and be taunted and bullied by not only students, but the teachers. If I did go, I don't think that I would have the courage to not fight back. It would probably take all of my patience not to lash out and pound the kid for offending me or my friends. I think that now a days, things aren't as bad as when they were back then, but I still think that people still discriminate each other. They may even live in different areas too. Although, I think that those nine black students going to an all white school showed people that everyone was created equal and you should not judge people by the color of their skin, but by the way they act and treat others.

Moon Mining

So, have you guys heard about the rumors that some companies want to team up with NASA to go to the moon and mine for precious materials? I find this really interesting. I think that this program could find new resources to do things like, give us power, help us build new things, or even a new alternative for gas. I hope that these missions are a success so the World can become more advanced in space travel.I wonder if in a year like 2080 we will no longer use the things that we think that we could not go without. Please give your thoughts about this space travel, if it interests you, or if you think these people are crazy!

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.“ -James Neil Hollingworth
Courage is as strong as steel
As tough as a reel
catching a shark
Courage is like a boat
holding what you believe afloat
For if you do not try,
Your mind has gone awry
It meas to be brave
to make that great save
To never give up
When life is abrupt
I hope that you guys enjoyed this poem. Give any feedback.

Hockey Season

So, I have written about hockey before, but I think that this is important. I am really glad that the NHL has started back up again. I feel that the players are playing better than they have in the past. The teams are battling each other for the top spot in the league. I think going to live hockey games is the best. After the game, there usually is a signing where you get to meet all of the players. So, as the hockey season starts, my hockey season has started as well. Currently I have 20 golas in the past five games. This averages out to about 4 goals a game. I play in the coolest places! I could be traveling to different rinks over town or even to other cities and sometimes even out of the state! This upcoming weekend I have a hockey tournament up in Woodland Park. I think that my team will bring excellnce to our game and give those Woodland Park players something to remember!
