This is the last week of seventh grade and I am so happy. Honestly, 7th grade was a lot harder than 6th grade because th teachers didn't treat us like babies so they gave us a lot more work and projects. Even though it was hard I had a lot of fun. Some of my favorite parts were dissecting a frog, going to the park, and trying out for sports. I was really successful when trying out for sports because both the sports that I tried out for I made. I tried out for volleyball and basketball which were really fun to play and have lot of people in the stands cheering you on. I have learned a lot academically like new vocab words, new algebra skills, and more about the history of the world. Next year when I am in 8th grade I would like to be better organized through homework and lockers. My advice to incoming 7th graders would be to manage your time better than you did in 6th grade. We have more papers to fill out and projects to create, if you dot manage your time better you could get behind pretty quickly. 7th grade was a blast, but I think I am ready to go into 8th grade and have even more fun.

A few days ago, the whole seventh grade at my school participated in the World History Fair. We got to pick a topic that interested us and write an essay on it. We also had to create a trifold and a 3D sculpture. My question was "How did Greek mythology influence our world today?" I learned a lot of things that involve Greek mythology had an influence on America. The English language was majorly influence by the Greek gods. Modern art was also influenced by Greek mythology, even Picasso used some of the Greek's techniques.
At the fair we were able to look at other people's projects and some had amazing displays and trifolds. My favorite was Mica's project because she made a really cool contraption that would slice the head off of a barbie doll. The project that interested me the most was Amanda's project because she told me a lot of information about people in the olden times who liked to have small feet so they would use this specific shoe and there feet would become smaller, but they wouldn't be able to walk. I loved the history fair because I learned a lot and had a lot of fun participating in this.

At International Towne, the leader talked about Nelson Mandella and gave us a postcard with one of his quotes. " Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I think that he was trying to say that the only way you can change the world is by learning how to then actually doing it. Even if you have a lot of money that can change the world you need to know how to, that is you need an education. I sent this postcard to our principle, Mr. Sterk, asking him to change the time we get to school because we need more sleep and getting up at 6:30 isn't necessarily a lot of sleep if kids do activities till 9:00 at night. I hope the principal considers this and I am happy I was given the opportunity to change part of our society.

For our all school reads book this year we are reading a very interesting book, in my opinion. This book is a lot more interesting than last years book. I like the style of writing better than last years book's style of writing. I can't really compare myself with any of the characters in either book though. I do not have an abusive mom, or a dad that left me, but I am very engaged in the story because at some points it is very suspenseful. I like that the character is facing different challenges than I am, but he is the same age as me. I am really enjoying this book and I can't wait to read what happens next.

On April 16th I went to International Towne for a school field trip. It was a very fun experience and I would like to do it again. I liked being the president because you got to be part of the tribunal for a little while. I just wish that I had more time to spend my money on merchandise instead of all of these activities. I had a lot of money left over so next time I wouldn't be as cautious with my money as I was last time. The field trip was very fun and I even learned some things. I learned a lot about Japan that I never even knew before, for example, Japan's population is around 127.3 million. I had a blast at International Towne and I would love to go on this trip again.

Last week all of 7th grade dissected a chicken leg. We did this to learn more about living parts like tissues and ligaments. I had fun dissecting the chicken leg. I found out that when you push the ligaments of the chicken it moves other parts of the leg. I think dissecting a frog would be more fun because you see chicken legs everywhere but not dead frogs. I can't wait to dissect frogs, I think I will have more fun and we will see more parts in the frog than the chicken leg.

I am really excited to got to I-Town. My little brother went to Ameri-Town and said he had a lot of fun. For this field trip, I applied to be a television reporter in Japan. I applied for this job because I love speaking to crowds and I would love to be on "tv". I think I would be a great tv reporter because I have experience with talking to an audience and speaking my mind. Some other jobs I applied for includes: the president of Japan or Brazil and a food preparer in Ukraine. I am really looking forward to this field trip because I think it will be a great experience.

After I watched the movie Ernest Green, I was infuriated with how the high schoolers were treating the black kids. Who would treat a person so cruelly just because they are a different race? Aside from that, I thought the movie was interesting, I realized how much our country had changed over the past decades. If I were Ernest green, I don’t think I could do what anyone of them did. I would try, but I don’t think I would make it through the whole senior year, like Ernest Green did. Ernest Green faced so many difficult challenges, but made a difference in our whole country, not all people have the strength to face those challenges like Ernest Green did.

Have you ever wondered what you were doing 7 years ago? Today my family and I watched home videos and on this exact day 7 years ago I was doing skits with my big and little brother. I was 6, my older brother Josh was 11 years old, and my little brother Jacob was 4.The skits were really funny because we were so young and we never rehearsed. I also found out why our homemade cookies are so delicious. My little brother would lick the frosting on his finger then dip it back in the frosting mix and lick his same finger again. We have the proof on DVD now. Those two videos made us crack up. I love watching videos of when I was a little kid it’s like I was watching a movie all about me. I give those videos 5 stars! What are some memories that you got on video tape or DVD. I have so many; it’s hard to remember them all.
