My focus topic was politics in the Middle Ages. Politics in the Middle Ages includes kings and Queens Manors and Serfs. One of thr main focus points in the Middle Ages was Fuedalism. FUedalism is the process in which a king gives land to manors and the manors provide protection and loyalty to the kings. Then the Manors would give land to poor serfs and the serfs would give them protection and food. Politics in the Middle Ages was similar to the way AMerica operates today. In America we try to save money during huge wars, that is what the Middle Ages did. The Middle Ages was a very Dark time. There were struggles and a long boring time. People in the Middle Ages did not really pay attention to politics in the Middle Ages. They obeyed the Kings and Queens each and everyday.

Learning about the science in the Middle Ages was very interesting. I researched about the tools that they used back then to cut and sharpen metal and wood, the different types of medicine that were used, the types illnesses and sicknesses that occured back then, the weapons that were used during wars, what their thoughts were about the sicknesses, and many other things too. They used tools such as an auger, a chisel, a hammer, a trowel, axes, and rakes. They didn't really call medicine anything back then. If someone in the village was having a headache, then they would just mix some certain herbs and plants together to make a medicine that helped headaches. Think about it. Some of this information is just like the things that we use today. We use tools even though they are now even more high-tech and we still use medicine to this day but we now all medicines have a name. This time period has invented so many new things that all we have done is improved them.

CL -- What I learned about Medieval Philosophy

Philosophy is "learning about learning". Philosophy concentrates on nature and how things work but in the Middle Ages it focused on religion. It is because religion was very important back then, for example, the pope was more powerful than the king and the kings take orders from the church. So many philosophers had questions about God, such as, Did He exist? How did He create the world? Etc. Philosophy has changed the world even today. Philosophers started colleges back then that are the basis of our modern colleges and they changed how modern philosophers think. Augustine and Boethius were the main two philosophers in the middle ages. Boethius asked questions about common traits and Augustine had questions about Christianity. Philosophy was about everything and anything but now with technology we know the answers to philosophical questions.

What is philosophy? How was it used in the Middle Ages? My topic was Medieval Philosophy. A main part of philosophy was called Scholasticism. That means that medieval thought centered around religion. People thought that philosophy centered around God and the Bible, and people thought that the Bible was the best philosophy book. Some philosophers did not always agree with the Bible. This changed when a man named Thomas Aquinas spread the thought that religion and philosophy were two different things. This was the end of scholasticism. I have learned a lot about philosophy in the Middle Ages, and I hope that you have too. I can't wait to present our project!

The science in the middles ages was not advanced. It was very practical sicence for practical problems. Their science also included the study of nature. During the medieval time period the greatest scientists and doctors did not live in Europe but, instead they all lived in the Islamic Empire. Most of the science and medical practices that Europe was using came from the Islamic region. That is the science of the middle ages.

I learned about daily life in the middle ages. I learned that life in the middle ages was very hard work and life was deticated to wealth, power, and the feudal system. Most of the time was spent working the land and trying to grow enogh food to survive another year. The children were quickly expected to join the adult world. I had a lot of fun learning about daily life in the middle ages.

Sience was very intresting to learn about Middle Age science, and to see the inventions they created. They invented many new weapons to help in wars, like catapults, trebiuchet, and cannons. They also created better ways of farming with the grain windwill, which grinded up grains easily. They also created convex, and concave lenses for glasses so people could see. They created many more things but that was just a few things they invented.

I researched the daily life of Middle Ages. I learned so much from this topic! I learned that Middle Ages are very different from now. Its more ancient and hard then, than it is now. They didn’t have as many inventions as we do, and they didn’t have technology to help them out when they needed it. I learned that they were more cruel back then. When somebody made a mistake, they would either be killed or put in a dungeon. Learning the daily life of important history was very interesting. It is so different now, than it was back then.

Science in the MIddle ages was very important. If there wasn't science that long ago, there wouldn't be as much science as there is today. In the Middle Ages, there was more science than you think. They gave science a base of learning and expanded it as time went on. I'm am glad that they invented science back then.

After reseachering philosophy in the middle ages, I found out that there were a lot of smart philosophers. Also, that the fall of Rome caused the Dark Ages. After the fall of Rome, in my opinion, the smartest people were clegerlies. They were the only people who know hpw to read and write. And not even all of them knew how to read and write! Not even the king knew how to write! But he knew how to read. But Charlemange wanted all his officials to be able to read and write. So he set up his castle as a school. Another thing that I learned was about the Gutenburg printing press. A hard thing that he had to figure out is what type of ink to use. Ok...bye now! :) I hope you learend a lot about middle ages philosophy=http://=http://!!! bye.

The Renaissance happened after the Middle Ages. The Renaissance had long and snowy winters, and mild summers. Members of the upper classes lived in wooden or stone castles or manor houses. Most peasants lived in houses made of wood or earth, with thatched roofs with dreadful conditions. Poor families had simple furniture, like straw mattresses and a few chairs or a table made from barrels halves. Jousting was a big sport in the Renaissance. Women just stayed home in took care of there children. The men worked outside in fields or in merchant shops. The Renaissance was a great period of time I think.

In the Renaissance, there were many different topics and ideas that philosophers studied. For example, they studied natural philosophy, scholasticism, religion, and humanism. Throughout the middle ages, mostly everything was based around God and religion. However, philosophers started to base their studies on humanism instead of just religion. This is partly why humanism was such an important topic in the renaissance. There were a plethora of philosophers in the renaissance. Some of the philosophers that we are most familiar with are Aristotle, Plato, Newton, and many others too. Today, many philosophers have borrowed ideas and thoughts for their studies. As time has passed, philosophers have become deeper in thinking and have developed many more ideas and theories. Renaissance philosophy has effected us today in many ways.

I have researched Renaissance daily life, and in that time frame I have learned about how people during that time lived and how they maintained a semi-healthy life (compared to ours, it was pretty unsafe). One of the most interesting things I learned about the Renaissance was that the servants of the owner of the house had to account for anything and everything the owner's family (or guest) ate. Peasants and noble ate a wide variety of foods, some I hadn't even heard of.
mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">Clothes also surprised me because, rich people didn't just wear it for fashion, they wore it to cover up as much skin as possible, usually to cover up if that person is sick.

Daily Life in the Middle Ages was very different from today. They had to grow their own food , didn't get much meat, and almost no education. They could not even leave the land they were born on without permission. They traveled by foot unlike us, they sowed and made tool to pass time, and they do not bathe very often.

I would like to focus mainly on the interesting inventions and new ways of thinking that developed during the Renaissance. The Renaissance was a very important time period in history because of how different it was compared to the preceding time period's barbaric nature and stagnant theological thinking. If we didn't have some of the important inventions or ideas from the Renaissance time period, where would we be?

I researched the science of the Renaissance time period. I learned who to scientists were in the Renaissance. I also learned about the inventions, they invented the flush toilet! I learned about the explorers, They called the dawn of learning. The printing press was invented during the renaissance, I think that the printing press was the biggest invention in the renaissance because now everyone can read, This happened because the price of books went down to nothing. They also had huge advances in weaponry because they made the cannon, They named it a Balilsk. I definetly learned a lot in this project, this was definetly the most interesting project of the year so far!

Many governments of the medieval ages were monarcheys. Many countries were ruled by roya families who gave the throne to the 'next of kin' after the current ruler died. There were a few countries, such as Poland-Lithuania that held elections to choose thier rulers. Many times these elections were staged and corruption was rampant.

I have politics for the Middle Ages. The politics in the Middle Ages were a lot like the politcs now. Most medieval societies were monarchies that were led by one ruler. Something that was different was that they payed taxes to the church instead of the bank which is how we do it today. The politics had many similarities and differences but they were both good for different reasons.

If you were an upper class person in the Renaissance you usually spent you time in a nice house and did little work.If you were in the middle class you had an ok house and did work to provide to your family. If you were in the lower class your house was usually wood and had dirt floors, and did a lot of work to provide to your family. the people in the renaissance ate a lot of bred and rice and only ate meat on special ocasions like holidays.

I learned that science helped Middle Ages people to tell time by only the stars, it influenced many areas of life, and artists who studied anatomy (bodily structure of humans, animals, and other living organisms) could make more convincing depictions of the human body. I also leanred about a scientist with the name of Mahmood Ghaznawi. Hestudied philosophy and beliefs and combined what he learned from Indian scholarship with his own investigations and his extensive knowledge of Greek and Arab science. As an accomplished geologist, he accurately recorded the properties and density of different types of stones and metals. He thought that the earth rotates on its own axis and observed that light travels faster than sound.

Some inventions that were made were the early helicopter and plane, invisible ink, printing press, cast iron pipe, monkey wrench, portable watch, rifle barrel, shotgun, wrench, screwdriver, hydrometer, parachute, and tank. Galileo was the father of modern science. I also learned that in this time period, the discovery that the earth wasnt the center of the universe was made. What you did in your daily life in the Middle Ages was based on what social class you were in. A serf or peasant would work in the field all day growinging and harvesting crops and have to give some of their crops to the king in return for protection. Nobleman took orders from the king while knights were under the control of the noblemen. The king had control over everybody in the kingdom except the Pope, because at times the king had to do what the Pope said.

Life in the Middle ages wasn't that sophisticated. There was the fuedal system and the way they dressed was pretty simple. The classes of the fuedal system was first the king, then the nobles, then the knights, then the serfs/peasants. They wore linen undercloths and thin wool jackets. Studying and researching about the Middle Ages was fun and interesting.

I learned that there were many new types of science created at that time geography, astronomy, chemistry, physics, mathematics, manufacturing, and engineering. I also learned because of those new ways of learning there were new types of inventions to like the printing press, the mechnical clock, The microscope, and the submarine etc.. Another cool fact that I learned was because of the scienctists during that time we wouldn't have what we have today. Thanks Leonardo Da Vonci, and other siencetists. My time period was the Renaissance and individual focus was daily life. I learned that children were treated like mini adults. They would start woriking at age 7 or 8. If you were rich, you went to a school or tutor and if you were poor, you would work for a wealth family. Women stayed home with the children. Men worked in the fields and older children worked with their father. I learned alot about their lifestyles and I'm looking forward to our project.

Like, during the Renaissance feudalism ended because they needed a stronger government (political system). Also a big accomplishment during the Renaissance was making the central government. I found even more information like that which intreges me a lot. So just like I predicted this year is going to be the best ever.

You'd haft to work in farms, give money to the king and wear clothing that wasnt exuatly slik. but no matter who you were the Black death effected you. the black death was this faidle deazise that was termitted though fleas which bit the rat they were on and gave the rats it but then you would get bit by the rats or the feal would bite you. another important part back then were the Crudshades (i dont no how to spell it) open up trade which opened up ship building the Renasundents started when the middle evil era ended the middle ages came upon after the roman empire feel. thats a few things about daily life.

I learned about the renaissance time period philosophy and philosophers and it was really interesting. Renaissance time period was filled with art and culture than other time periods, and the philosophers mostly focused theology or human. The philosophers in Renaissance period were free thinking people and they were not religious, so the catholic churchs didn't like them and sometimes executed them. The most famous philosopher in the Renaissance time period is Leonardo Da Vinci and he was an architect, sculptor, inventor, engineer, scientist, mathematician, etc. In total, the Renaissance time period had philosophers like Leonardo Da Vinci who studied theology and human and they were not religious so they were sometimes executed, but they were free thinkers so they continued and the renaissance flourished with arts and culture
