I am really super exited about Christmas because I am going on a vacation to Washington DC the day after my birthday (12/27). We will go to the top of the Washington Monument and see the Capital building decorated in Christmas lights. On New Years Eve, we will see the ball drop on TV and have a big fun party with my friends. On Christmas Day, I will run down stairs and open my stoning and my presents. For Christmas dinner, we will mostly have turkey, mashed potatoes, ham, and soup. My family has already started to put some of the presents under the tree. It is starting to feel a lot like the holiday season with all of the decorations around my neighborhood. last night, I think I saw snow falling from the sky. I am really looking forward to Christmas because in my opinion, its the best time of the year!

Good ol' Scotland

Scottish people celebrate Christmas in a unique way. One important thing that the article said was "Given the religious background of Scottish people, they do not celebrate Christmas with the gayety that the rest of the world does." Every New Years, there is a midnight church service that people go to to share the spirit. The first foot to pass a ribbon on New Years Day will predict their luck for the rest of the year. Everyone celebrates Christmas silently with religious services. After midnight church service, the New Year's Day celebrations begin with the wishing of the New Year.

I read One Day In the Prairie as a biome book. Some of the organisms are the prairie dog, the big bluestem, and the buffalo. I would visit the biome because it is beautiful and amazing to watch all the tings going on.

I learned three important things well building the monster. I call it ACE: atitude, cotent, and effort. Atitude is very important because if your atitude is bad, no one will talk to you that have connecting parts. Content is important because it means to be trustworthy. Effort is very important because if you dont have effort, you will never get your part done. I have had a lot of fun putting the monster together and I look forward to seeing next years monster.

I will be building the tea cup and the belly button. The tea cup is from Mrs.Finley,s fourth grade class from Brixham Montessori, Maine for the tea cup, and Mrs. Nairn's second grade class in Manitoba, Canada. The tea cup is round with a 12" diameter that is olive green, black speckled, bloody, slimy, rusty and moldy. The belly button is the size of an apple. It is green, wart covered, slimy, and stuck with bugs and a zombie head inside. I will need to connect to the hands, fingers, and body.

I read the wonder #465 where is the highest mountain? I learned that Mt Everest is over 27,000 feet tall and that it takes nearly 6 weeks to climb. Himilaya: snowy, cold, and high.
