Holiday Traditions in Armenia

Hello fellow classmates! Okay, for this blog I chose Armenia.Their traditional holiday greeting is "Shenoraavor Nor Dari yew Pari Gaghand." Preparations for Christmas begin weeks in advance here. Families clean their house thoroughly in preparation for the priests who come to bless the home with salt and water. Christians in Armenia do not eat any animal products during the week before Christmas, so rice and other varieties of pudding have become traditonal foods. Food plays an important part in Armenia, and fruit is often on trees with white doves thst symbolize peace, along with golden bows. Children hang handkerchiefs on foofs in hopes that they will be filled with fried wheat, raisins and coins. They also sing carols from the roof tops, chanting "Rejoice and be glad! Open your bag and fill our handkerchiefs. Hallelujah, hallelujah!" When Gah-ghant Baba, the Old Father visits to give gifts, they are happy, because their wish has been fulfilled.

Beautiful Biomes

My biome is the tropical rainforest. One of my organisims is a scarlet macaw, a tropical bird with a red body and multicolored wings. Another is an orchid, a pinkish flower that has adapted by climbing tall trees. My last one is a sloth, a slow moving monkey-like animal that lives high in the trees. I think I would like to visit the rainforest because it is a very interesting place full of life.

I learned alot obout project work today. I learned it is easier to collaborate and work together to get something done. It is also good to be aware of what you are doing so you don't mess up the project. It is important to get along and be fair so you can get your project done faster!!!

Monster parts

I have two monster parts: the ring and the hands. The ring was created by Nathalie Roy in 5th grade in Kanata, Ontario,Canada. It is gold with green slimy dotsand it is too big for the fingers. Engraved in the ring is " eye" luv monsterella". It has one precious stone and four dangling charms, a bone, a heart, a skull and a bell.
The other part I am doing is the hands. They were decribed by Ms. Ewing & Mrs. Brakenbury's 4th grade class at Monmouth Central, in Monmouth Illinois. They are hexagon shaped, hairy slimy, big, fat and wart covered. The left one is orange, silver and black and the right one is green and silver. They are also cheetah print and zig zag.
I think my parts will connect to the fingers, arms, and anything that the hands and fingers will be holding, like the ipad or cell phone.

My Wonder was #689: Do You Have ESP? ESP, short for extrasensory perception, is belived by the general public not to be real. But, in some very rare cases, people have a sixth sense where they have a hunch, vision,or perception of something in the near future. It isn't exactly pyschic powers, but it's pretty cool. People called parapsychologists study this rare behavior. A parapsychologist is someone who studys and tries to figure out if this pyschic-like power is real. Sometimes, if you guess somthing and it happens, thats just pure chance, but if you have ESP, you will have a strong feeling or clear vision something will happen without any information and wihout using any of your other senses. So, DO you have ESP?
