Second, there is Type B which involves liquids such as oils and wax. Third, is Type C which involves electricity. Finally, there is Type D which involves flammable metals such as titanium. Those are the four different types of fire.

Maricela -- How to Properly Put Out a Campfire

Article posted September 12, 2012 at 04:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 195

Campfires are one of the main causes of forest fires. Today I will tell you how to properly put out a campfire so it will stay extinguished.

When you make your fire, only get as much wood as you can use. If you can, let the wood burn into ash, because it makes it easier to put it out later. Keep your fire just the right size, so it will not spread to nearby trees or tinder, such as branches. Big fires are also harder to put out.

When you put out your campfire, pour lots of water on your campfire. Put the blazes out, and cover the embers with water too. Even the embers that are not glowing can start a fire very easily. Use a shovel to bury the embers and stir them up. Make sure that there are not embers under the fire pit stones. If you cannot find a water source, and you not want to waste your drinking water, use dirt to put it out. Do not bury the fire, or else it will just burn through the dirt and maybe spread. Sir up the dirt with the embers and it will put out the remainder of the fire.

Campfires are fun and easy to put out. I hope you remember how to put out a campfire!

Denzel -- why water burns out fire

Article posted September 17, 2012 at 09:43 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 149

Today I will be telling you how water burns out fire. Now I know you see fire fighters use water because it cools the fire down and if you are lucky then it will cool it down all of it down. Water is a liquid some liquid can burn out. But water burns out the fire but mostly it will cool it all the way.

In London 80, 0000 houses burned down and 87 churches. If it is a small house the fire can get as big as that house. As big as the fuel feeding it. As long as fire has air. Never start a bush fire because it can be dangerous.

Did you ever wonder how fire can start and what things are flammable and what is fire made up of? If you always wonder I am going to tell you .

First I am going to tell you how a fire starts. In order to get a fire started you need oxygen, fuel, energy and heat. Those are the most important things you could use.

Next I’m going to tell you about what materials are flammable. There are many things that are flammable like leaves, wood, paper, dead trees, grass, wool and many different liquids. There might be many other things that are flammable that I don’t know about.

Have you wondered what fire is made of? Fire is made of a chemical reaction called combustion. Combustion is gas, so combustion is a fuel for fire.

What gear do firefighters wear? Firefighters wear big heavy jackets, an under shirt, a regular shirt, boots and heavy pants. Also they carry a big first aid kit so if any one is hurt they can hurry and carry them out and see if they're ok.

Now I have told you what things are flammable and what is fire made up of.

How does fire start? Well now im going to tell you.
Fire starts with oxygen, fuel, and energy. There has to be enough energy to provide
either of these chemical, electrical, or physical means for the fuel to start heating up.
If wood and fuel gets close to electricity it will burst. Fire could start realy easy so be carful when you have fire around. That’s how fire could start .

How do fire start?
Today mostly everything is flammable but not like everything. You mostly start a fire with paper, wood, and weed. The way to stop a fire you could use multipurpose and a fire extinguisher other more. You can start by crashing because the engine is energy so it explodes a big fire that’s another way to start a fire. If you spill oil and then put gas you will start a big fire that’s another strategy

How does a fire start? Well today I am going to tell you. Fires need oxygen, fuel, and energy. There are lots of things that can fuel a fire like wood, coal, paper, dry weeds, pine needles, newspaper, and pine cones. Now I will tell you how a fire can start lighting strikes, getting water into circuits, spilling gas, petrol, diesel, and other oils. That is how a fire can start.
How does water put a fire out? Well if you don’t I am going to tell you. Water wets the fuel which stops it from burning. Water is not the only one that can put out fire foam, carbon dioxide, and powder are some of the things that can put out a fire. That is how water puts out a fire.
What are some different types of fire? Well today I am going to tell you. There are three main fires the first one involves a solid material gets one fire such as wood, paper, cloth, and plastics it is known as A. The second one is when a liquid such as gas gets one fire it is known as B. The third one involves electricity such as getting water into a cord it is known as B. those are some of the different fire types.
How do you put out different types of fire? Well today I am going to tell you. You might think that water puts out all fires but that is not true. There are four different fire extinguishers that put out different types of fires there is water, foam, carbon dioxide, and powder. There are three main fires the first one is when a solid material is on fire, Water and foam can put out that one. The second one is when a liquid such as gas is on fire, foam and powder can put that one out. The third one involves electricity only carbon dioxide can put that one out. That is how you put out different fire types.
What do firefighters use in a fire? Well today is your lucky day because I am going to tell you. The first tool a firefighter would use would be ladders they use ladders to climb up to high place to rescue someone or to put out a fire. The second tool fire fighters would use would be a hose they use the hose to put out fires but the water they are using has a lot of force. The third tool a firefighter would use is called the Jaws of Life this separate’s some who is trapped under something like a car. The forth one a firefighters would use is called a halligan it is used to brake windows, doors, and roofs to rescue a trapped person. The last tool a firefighter would use is a fire extinguisher it is like a hose but with less force and it is easier to move around. That were some tools the fire fighters can use.
