"Don't forget the flashlight'', Emily said. We were packing for our three day camping trip along the river. Emily and Dan climbed into the jeep and I threw our bags into the trunk. We drove out, and were on our way. About an hour later we turned onto a rocky dirt road leading into a forest , and parked our car under a large tree. We got out of the car and pulled out our backpacks filled with supplies and hiked out into the woods. "Here's a good spot", Dan said. We dropped our bags and began pitching a tent. By evening we had our campsite all setup, and had a nice fire and were roasting marshmellows. "Tomorrow we can blow up our rafts and go down the river," I said. "Good idea," Dan and Emily agreed. After, we put out the fire and climbed into our tent and went to sleep. We woke up early  in the morning and set up our rafts. We had a quick  snack and then we left."Let's go down for a while and then we can pull over and hike back to our campsite." Emily said. We put on our life jackets and sat in our rafts. The gentle current of the river pulled us forward. After about ten minutes we were going faster and there were sharp rocks sticking out of the water. "Uh-oh," Dan said. "We better be careful. We slowly realized the horrifying truth that we were getting closer and closer to a waterfall. "Grab a branch!" I yelled. We tried turning to the shore and reaching for the trees, but we were going too fast. Suddenly Dan caught a branch that was hanging over the river. I grabbed Dan's raft, and Emily grabbed mine. "Hold on!" Dan yelled. We tried pulling ourselves to the shore,, but the current was too strong. The roaring of the waterfall filled our ears. We kept thinking of ways to get back on land, but there was nothing we could do."I'm slipping!" Emily screamed. I grabbed  her  arm and struggled to hold on to Dan's raft at the same time. Suddenly, a helicopter appeared flying above the trees. "Help!" We all screamed. Dan waved his free hand in the air. The helicopter slowly lowered towards the river. A man opened the door and let down a ladder. Me and Dan followed Emily up the ladder and thanked the men in the helicopter."No problem," the other man said. They flew us back to our campsite and we thanked them again. "Let's pack up and go home," Dan said. "I think I've had enough adventure for a long time ." "Me too," me and Emily agreed. So we packed our tents and sleeping bags and drove home. And we never forgot our big adventure in the river.  THE END
