The Spelling Story Challenge

Title: Death in Paradise

The scorching sun burned my neck blood-red raw. The wind cackled and jeered, but refused to bring a cooling breeze. Mosquitos bit. The sun continued blazing. But I was still no closer to my goal. Every morning I would get up and pray  and sing praises to God, and then continue hacking into the merciless jungle in search of water. This is my Spiritual Journey. To find comfort, where no one has, to accept Jesus as my saviour. This is my goal and it has been my life for the past seven months. My name is Roran. I long to return to New Zealand. To it's rolling hills, and bright flowers. Just at that moment a wet buffalo came running past, interrupting my homesick thoughts. I would  have normally dismissed the buffalo, you see quite a lot of them here. But it was wet. Wet! I quickly ran in the direction of where the buffalo had come from. I ran and ran. I came to an Oasis. I drank my full, and removed my shabby, moth-eaten clothes and allowed myself a leisurely dip. I had done it! I had found the oasis I gave thanks to Jesus! And returned my thoughts towards home. The end.

My book blog

I am currently reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief. Percy has just been trapped by a lady with snakes for hair [I bet they must hate haircuts]; who has the power to turn you into stone if you look into her eyes. Her name is Medusa. Percy defeats her using a crystal ball and his sword. He didn't look into her eyes but saw her reflection in a crystal ball. He then killed her by lopping of her head. Her body turned into sand. [Except for her head which wasn't connected to the body anymore.] Her head is used later on to turn the Hydra to stone.

My book blog

Author: Rick Riordan

Book: Heroes Of Olympus: The Mark of Athena

Chapter: In Chapter 16 of my book three demigods get stuck in an underwater realm of icthyocentaurs. They are a mix of creatures with the body of a serpent yet they have the torso, head and arms of a man. While they were underwater one icthyocentaur performed magic on the demigods, so they would'nt suffocate or get crushed by the water pressure. When they were underwater,  Leo the boy who could control fire finds out why one of his friends is mortally scared of fire. The boy is also scared of Leo. The reason is that Franks lifeline is connnected to a block of firewood hiddenf in his girlfriends shirt, if the log were to burn then Franks life will burn as well.

Hangman and Grammar Ninja

I liked Grammar Ninja because it was fun and I generally got the answers right.

I disliked Hangman because I never got any right.

Protractor and maths

Article posted September 19, 2012 at 12:41 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 169

Yesterday, I learnt to use the protractor, I think it will help me in the future to check whether things are ninety degrees or acute or obtuse like a chair or a table. It will also help me check if things are straight, so if someone in the future asks me if I can use a protractor then I can proudly say yes.

A Feijoa Tree

Article posted June 8, 2012 at 02:04 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 26

Hello there, my name is Jameon. I live in Whakatane. This is a story about a feijoa tree in my backyard. You have to figure out this mystery:

There is a feijoa tree at the back of my house. There is a school planted right beside my feijoa tree. I don't actually know what the school is. I basically know what I hear and see. I always see my precious, juicy feijoas all gone. I know they were taken from the school next door. Because every Thursdays and Fridays I hear the sound of kids laughing and chomping noisily. Sometimes I see a glimmer of red and blue through the bushes green. I also know that the school is a christain school. But still I am faced with a startling question.

What school is it?
