Well if the internet disappears we all going to be affected, negative or positive way. For me internet is huge part of my life. I communicate with my families which are thousands and thousands of miles away. I talk to them every single day on Skype. Therefore you can see if i lose the internet, I will lose this opportunity which is very cheap long distance communication, I can still call them, however it will affect me financially, and my phone bill will be unaffordable. The technology also made us easy to connect with global friendship; we can make a friend from another part of the world, thanks to BBM AND Facebook. We can also learn anew cultures and exchange ideas which I think is pretty helpful to know something about what is going on globally. The second thing I like about the internet is the entertainment, for example the music and movies websites etc. the internet itself has disadvantage, I think we are becoming very dependent on it, in a way which leads to us very lazy society. The article we read the other day which was the gist generation, the author was talking about how the internet affected us, I agree with him.
And I think we aren’t using our brains, like we used to be, and if we don’t practice using our brain it will shrink.overall for me internet has more advantage then disadvantage.

Personally if the internet disappeared it wouldn't have a huge impact on my life, but it would impact it none the less. I find the internet if quite useful for means of communication, entertainment, education, and plenty of other things. As I do enjoy playing my internet games, and searching through kijiji.

In a way though it wouldn't be all that bad. I would miss a few of those things, but it would give everybody more of a change to get outdoors and do things instead of being cooped up inside playing on the computer all day/night long. And even if it did disappear I would assume there would still be single player games for computer, which aren't quite as fun, would still keep people playing their computers.

All in all I think we would suffer a bit more from internet loss than gaining anything.

I'm not to sure how having no internet would affect my life,I suppose it would be relatively hard to not have it as a necessatie.I didn't have the internet until I was around 12 so I know what it is like to not have it around, I kinda miss the simplicity of being able to discover my own information through reading or whatever , now it's a click away and although that is wonderful in it's own; I feel like I'm essentially getting too much information that I don't need to have! I think my life would be perfectly good without being brainwashed by a computer!

If the internet was no longer it would greatly affect my life, it would take time to adjust. I use the internet to stay connected to family and friends. I use it to find side jobs, search for music, banking. It is something that I use everyday, but I don't let it affect how much time I spend outside, or getting involved in activities.
The hardest adjustment would be my banking. I would probably not pay all my bills on time without the convienience of pushing a button. I would find it a lot more difficult to find side jobs and jobs for that matter. Drop off a resume?

If the internet disappeared tomorrow my life would be affected quite alot in some places and not alot in others. For example I never really got into the whole online chatting thing like facebook and stuff like that, so my life wouldn't be affected there but in terms of information gathering and things that are more practical like online banking or navigation my life would be greatly altered. I think that every year that passes by there is usually that one more thing that comes out in relation to cyberpace that makes our everyday lifes easier. So in that sense every year we as a society are becoming more and more reliant on the internet and everything that is has to offer everyday life. A couple of examples of how dependant we are to the internet is for one the day and age we are being brought up in most people don't even know how to properly write and adress a letter because microsoft word can do that for us. Another example is if you were working at a business and your computers went out most people would not know how to write out a recipt, back in the day it was all written out, also a bill of sale and other things such as these most people wouldn't know how to formally write out. Things that technology now does for us, even reading a map would be a challenge when we are so reliant on google maps and the "print" button. I think that we are too dependant on the internet now and if anything ever happened to it we would all be troubled in one way or another.

if the internet disappeared tomorrow my life would be affected a little. i wouldnt say that i wouldnt be able to live without it. i mostly use the internet in my spare time when im bored or waiting for time to go by. i just go on facebook or twitter. also to keep in touch with old friends or family. the only other place i use the internet is at school where for a lot of our work its required. i do think people rely on the internet to much and take advantage of it.

I think I would be lost without the internet. I rely on it for so many things like if I quickly want to find lyrics to a song, find a quick answer to a question, it's all right there. And not only that but I use it to keep in touch with people that I went to school with, I use it for my banking and so many other things. I rely on the internet a lot just because it makes life simpler because everything is right at your fingertips. But I find people today do rely on it a lot when we really we shouldn't. Our parents and grandparents made it through life without it so i'm sure we can but i'm sure most people can agree its almost become a neccessity today in our everyday life.

If the internet dissapeared tommorow my life would for sure be greatly affected. I have the internet on my iphone so whenever i need help with somthing that i cant figure out for for one of my video games its right there. This would also affect me in school as we would not have the internet anymore for certain things so i defenitly think that the assigments would change somewhat even. Yes I do think we are becoming to independent on the interent my reasoning for it is because i have leanerd that all things are not always true so we choose to believe information that may not even be true.

For myself if the internet crashed I think i would be totally lost without it and that I would be trying to figure out what to do with myself with the internet out. Also the thing is that I too believe that society it self is way too dependent on it. We use the internet to listen to music, communicate with family and business people and that of entertainment like movies and video games. Another thing is that of the way the internet gives us information on topics that may be unavailable to us because it is only accessable in that conutry; but on the other hand it would free us of our stupidity and allow us to become more knowegable about our world. We would also be having the same technology that we have today but be more open and focused on our world and be able to help it more then we do now because we all would be interacting with the the environment and also be WAY more health then we are in our society. So yes, I do believe we have gotten to dependent on the internet and think that we can only use that as a way of communicating with others that may be a walk or a drive away. So in short the lose of the internet would benefit and hinder us because of the withdrawal that most of us would go through but in the long run make us healthier and more aware of our planet.

I think that having the internet has taken over. If the internet was shut down, I dont think people would be able to coupe or function with it if it was gone. I think that the internet is a very cruel place for people and the things that are put on the internet today. I think that there are alot of bad things, don't get me wrong there are benifits to it as well, the benifits are that people can chat and video from around the world with family and friends. But yes I think people have so much dependences on the internet sometimes to much.

My life wouldn't change to much if the internet disappeared tomorrow. The things I would be losing out on is watching youtube videos, being able to download music or get quick information from google.People lived without the internet before so not having it wouldn't be the end of the world, people would just have to take more time and figure out what they need to learn by reading or learning from someone. A lot of the information I would have to get to learn something I would just have to go to the libary or to a book store. Everyone in the world would have to arrange different ways to commuicate like instead of emailing a important document to someone they would have to send the person a letter and have to wait for a return. Losing the internet would slow down a lot of the stuff we do because on the internet we can have a email send in under a minute where a letter takes more time. One other way people would be at a disadvantage of not having the internet is people wouldnt be able to order stuff they want online they would have to go find what they need in the stores. Crime would be easier to commit without the internet because business owners wouldnt be able to keep a eye on their cameras at their work place from home, they would have to watch it on tape after it was recorded.

How would my life be affected if there was no internet?
I would like to say that the internet is of no great importance to me but I would be lying to myself. I like keeping in contact with family and friends that live out of the country, so I would miss the ability to connect to them via e-mail and not to mention calling long distance can get really expensive. Also, I can appreciate the fact that you can look up pretty much everything for free(I love kijiji). With that being said, I can easily find different avenues for my needs, I can call friends and family and have actual meaning conversations as opposed to "shooting the s#$@" through e'mail and I can also look to our local news paper for current information and other things of interest to me. If there was to be no internet tommorow, I would be silightly upset but I would quickly get over it.

I think that if the internet disappeared tomorrow that I would feel a little lost in my life until I adapted back to the “old ways”. I know that I rely on the internet more than I would care to admit. I play scrabble daily with relatives that I have met online and would really feel a loss without this daily interaction that I have with them. I like to Google images for craft, garden and decorating ideas. I love the conveniences it offers for such things as bus schedules, store hours, prices and locations. Although I do not shop online I do research merchandise for quality and price. Email is a great way to touch base with friends when life has us too busy for long chats on the phone. I think my generation would be less adversely affected by the loss of the internet than the younger generation would be. I think it would be harder for them to adapt back to the days of landlines, big yellow phonebooks, hard covered encyclopedias and all of the other conveniences that the internet offers than it would be for my generation. I guess when I really think about it, I do like it more than I don’t, and I probably would miss it more than I think I would. I think I’m still adapting to something that I have no control over. The internet and all it offers, good and bad, is here to stay and getting bigger and stronger. Do I think that society is too reliant upon the internet, yes. I base this on what I perceive as a loss of creativity and imagination with video games. I see a loss in the art of handwriting. I see a loss of personal contact and interaction. I see inactivity that is affecting people’s health. I don’t know, I guess with like everything there needs to be moderation to keep our lives balanced but if I was in charge of the universe I’m not too sure if I would have created the internet.

I really enjoyed the "gist Generation" article, and agreed with a lot of what it said. I have often asked what people would do if there was no internet...then I remember, there was no internet when I was young. I prefer to back all my information with a hard copy.. it's also known as a pen and paper. Yes, society is too dependent on computers! I am guilty of social media..it's how I've gotten in touch with people I haven't seen in years, it's how I see my cousin and her 5 kids. But, no, no, no, you will not find me "surfing", just an hour a day.. unless I am doing school work. Even then, if I can, I will go to the library.

I don’t really know how I would feel if the internet all of a sudden just disappeared tomorrow. In a way I would be happy because there’s a lot of stupid ridiculous things you can find on the internet. Not to mention the drama involved with sites like Facebook. Unfortunately there are people out there that believe everything they read/see on the internet. Losing the internet would suck if you were doing a project or something that you needed to look up information. We would have to go back to the old days of going to a library and actually searching for what we need instead of just typing it into Google. I think that society has definitely become way to dependant on the internet and technology. I know some people that would be totally baffled and lost if they did not have the internet anymore.

The whole world depends on the internet. If the internet disappeared tomorrow my life would be affected because there would be problem with communication between countries. There would be a problem listening the news around the word.
I wouldn't be able to get on facebook. facebook is the only way I communicate with my relative and friends,I couldn't email my parents though I call them sometims. I couldn't get on skype to talk to my friends. I couldn't get on youtube to watch Southern Sudanese cultural dance and African movies. I wouldn't know about school events. I wouldn't be able to make doctor's appointments, apply for jobs and attends jobs internviews. I couldn't watch movies on netflix and I couldn't order things online.
On the other hand, my life would change. I would go to the library to gather books and read them. I would be able to look up in dictionaries for the vocavularies' meanings.

Everyone today is so dependent on the internet and cant seem to get away from it. in our society today i dont think we would last a day without the internet because it has been looked at as such a dependant varible in our lives and is used in so many different ways.

even jus little things now a days has something to do with the internet, such as videogames, looking at scores for your favorite sports team, and for people that are not very social so they have to use a social network such as "facebook" and "twitter" just to have or start a conversation with someone.

if the internet dissapeared tomorrow it wouldnt really affect my life that much because the only time i use the internet is to go on facebook or look at sport acticles.
