Blog #4 For my representation assignment, I did a poster for Mother to Son. I drew a staircase, just as she decribed it with splinters and nails sticking up, uneven and with carpet missing in spots. At the bottom of the staircase, I put a dark cloud with lightning and rain, a broken a heart, a no money symbol and a crooked picture with an angry face on it representing all the hard and negative times life can give you. On the staircase I had a man climbing up it and at the top I drew a sun, a heart, a money symbol and a picture hanging up with a smiley face on to represent all the happy and positive things in life. I was trying to show that keep if you don't try, you're only going to stay at the bottom with the bad times where as if you keeping trying and keep climbing, the good things in life will eventually come. I'm no artist but I feel I did a good job of showing what my idea was.
