The course met my expectations. I liked that music and lyrics were included in the course. It is something that everyone can relate to. The things I didn't not like about the course was the pressure behind presenting and the some what forced group discussions. I felt like the support was there when needed in this course, when I did not understand something, the help was there. I believe I have met the goals that I set for myself before entering this course. It has been a very long time since I have been in school. I never in the past put in any effort, and I feel a lot more confident now in my abilities to learn in a classroom.

I find it is very important to plan and gather as much information as possible before I begin to write my essay. I tend to take a long time in putting my essay together once I have gathered information. I re-read over my paper and change the order of how I have presented the information. I find writing an essay to be a challenge for me.

I learned that there is a lot of information on the web that maybe isnt credible. I never thought that a lot of the things on line are just someones opinions. I understand now why its so important to do the extra research. It probably would never have come to my attention without this english class. I learned not to just google everything, but to take more time and research things properly.

My main goal is to pass this class in order to further my education. I don't think that I will ever write an essay again but the skills I learned are still good to have. I am happy with where I am at right now with the class. I never applied myself when I was in highschool and it's good to know that I am capable.

I personally do not like the group work. I feel like it is somewhat forced. In some ways I can see it's advantages, by bouncing some information off people. I think that talking to people and sharing ideads are skills that we have as individuals. I believe that these skills can be used when we need to use them. I don't like being forced to do discuss things that I for the most part don't have a desire to discuss.

If I were to have done the 'Representation Assignment' to prepare I would have read over my work a few times so that I had it some what memorized. When representing things to an audience, I need to use more eye contact and not rush through the presentation. I find that I do better when I chose topics that I can personally relate to. This would help my presentation. Just going over all the information a few times also helps.

To practice for the major assignment, I have read over some of the hand outs. I have also been re reading and editing my work more.
I have also asked for help when I'm not sure about something. I have also taken the time to do some extra research.

Music has always communicated different ideas to different people. A song always seems to tell a story or communicat some kind of message. Sometimes the message is not clear, and sometimes its very clear. Music can sometimes communicate feelings without any lyrics. The music itself communicates with you, not the written message.

"Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans" John Lennon

I chose this lyric because it's so true and is one of my favourite Lennon Quotes. Everyone seems to get caught up in what they should be doing, or planning, saving etc.. Not much else to say as it speaks for itself.

If the internet was no longer it would greatly affect my life, it would take time to adjust. I use the internet to stay connected to family and friends. I use it to find side jobs, search for music, banking. It is something that I use everyday, but I don't let it affect how much time I spend outside, or getting involved in activities.
The hardest adjustment would be my banking. I would probably not pay all my bills on time without the convienience of pushing a button. I would find it a lot more difficult to find side jobs and jobs for that matter. Drop off a resume?
