I believe there is only ONE animal worthy of being in sight of the gods. It is….
THE PLATYPUS!
No other creature is as unique as this bubbly little mammal. Its duck bill is absolutely adorable, and I love the way it waddles on land or swims in the water. I believe the platypus fell to the earth from the heavens above in a shower of gold and that all the people sang opera to praise its existence. At first, though, some people thought it was a fake! True story! The Greek gods presented the platypus with a feast, and Zeus proclaimed the platypus: ‘The best, most unique animal in the world!’ Therefore, when the world ends, only the platypus shall remain, and will live a peaceful life eating, sleeping and swimming.

Love is Cruel

The day I discovered my love for you I was lost.
You never showed any signs of caring about me.
I imagined myself giving you a note,
And seeing you rip it up and rip up my heart at the same time.
But we have a rivalry,
You might hate me,
But I don’t hate you.
I tried to ignore how I felt.
I tried to carry on,
But I knew one day reality would come and slap me in the face.
My heart broke when I realized I could never be with you.
I acted, joked and laughed like normal,
But when I saw you I broke down, knowing what I knew.
You have no idea.
I envy your innocence.
I’m not just in pain.
It’s like being cut open every day,
I can’t understand how you fail to see the blood.
Your life, your dreams, your hopes are mine.
But not your love.
I will never have your love.
I love you.
But love is cruel.

What Would You Do?

What would you do?
Would you fight one hundred lions?
Would you face the Arctic, a desert, or a raging storm of snow?
How much would you do? What would you face?
Would you fly to the moon and back?
Would you face a stampede of elephants?
Would you run to the end of rainbow, and get some gold for me?
Would you sleep in the rain?
Would you fight in the sun?
What would you do?
Would you do this for me?

The tears stream down my face,
As I try to escape the desperate race.
I stare into the face of my worse enemies,
One, ironically, is younger than me.
They laugh, they tease,
They don’t know how it’s affecting me.
I race to get out,
As I start to pout,
And inside I cry and shout.
I am red, I am blue,
I want to get out of this zoo.
Will they stop? Will it end?
I bet my heart will never mend.
The tears stream down my face,
As I try to escape this race.

I am an avid reader, so it is hard to choose a favorite book. But, I have to say, the Harry Potter series does stand out. I would recommend this series to ANYONE who enjoys reading. It has lots of action, adventure, and a splash of mystery. I think that anyone would like it, because it is extremely well written. In case I haven’t convinced you, did you know that the author, J.K Rowling is the richest person in England? That’s just from the Harry Potter! There’s even a Harry Potter theme park! The series is so famous! And if none of this convinces you, then how about the fact that I like it! So, this would be the series that I would recommend.

Four years ago you left me,
Left the school, left my life.
I loved you, but you left anyways.
Gentle, funny, kind, weird, happy, a lost love.
Everyone seemed to know about my crush,
But when you left, I pretended not to care anymore then I should.
Four years ago you left to this day,
Whenever I saw you, I began to pray;
Let him notice, let him care,
But you hardly did.
You didn’t have to care,
But I do.
You were my best friend.
Together we laughed, together we cried,
I wonder if I meant more to you than a friend.
I wouldn’t know.
When you left,
And said goodbye,
My mind screamed;
PLEASE LOVE ME! Why do you have to go…?
But I merely whispered bye.
You’re gone, never to return.
So now tell me…
What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you?
I miss you.

|
Dark clouds gather,
The bright sun is covered.
Dark spots appear on the sand,
Ants scurry to their nest,
It could be disastrous,
It could be a saver,
It could be a depression.
It could strengthen,
It could die out.
It is raining.

Amili stared out on to the ice. She was tired; her family had eaten well this morning. She lazily licked seal blubber from in between her dark claws, which contrasted strikingly against her pure white pelt. She turned to her mother, who was lying there with her strong arms crossed, gazing tiredly at the sun rise. Amili rose, stretching her aching muscles.
“Mother?”
Her mother, Anka, slowly turned her head towards her daughter. For the millionth time, Amili gazed in awe at her mother. With hard-packed muscles, curved ears, a thick white pelt and warm brown eyes, Amili thought that her mother was the most beautiful polar bear in the world.
“Yes, precious Amili?”
Anka stared at her daughter, a mini replica of herself. She was young, but strong, and determined.
“Can I go search for Svarr now?”
Anka sighed. Her other cub, named for his grandfather, was nowhere in sight. He had said he was just going to the ice-rock to check the fish supply, but she suspected he’d gone on another adventure.
“No, little one. Sit and listen to my story.”
Amili snorted impatiently. But she settled down and stared out at the ice, at an open ice plain surrounded by warped ice points.
Anka nodded to the plain.
“See that, Amili? That is our history. It is called the Dragon Point Plain.”
“Dragon?” Amili interrupted. “How could a creature of fire and sky be related to a legend of earth and ice?”
“Hush, young one. I shall tell you how it could be, if you listen. This is also a story of your father.”
“My father? Am I going to meet him?”
“No, polar bears rarely meet your father. But one day you may meet Svin. But, that is not quite what I mean. I mean the polar bear father, Ursa.”
“Great Ursa! Our Ursa who watches us, the first polar bear, our heaven guardian?”
“Yes, now listen. All will be told.”
“In a time were seals were plentiful, and the ice was unstained by blood, a creature threatened our land.” Anka began. “Ursa, the first white bear, discovered a great beast. Its roar could shake mountains, its claws left huge marks in the ice, and its breath could melt a thousand ice rocks. It did not mean harm, but it still threatened us. Therefore, Ursa taught it to control itself. Slowly, Ursa brought other bears to meet the creature. These were brown bears, not yet polar bears. The beast began to be known as ‘The Fire Giant’. But, five months later, a rip in the galaxy opened. An opening from our world to the Na’tch had appeared.”
“Na’tch?” Amili demanded. “What in Ursa is that?”
“Hush, Amili, listen. The Na’tch came to find the dragon. It entered the minds of bears everywhere, trying to find the Fire Giant. Finally, it discovered the ice cave it lived in. The Na’tch attempted to enter the mind of the dragon, but failed, however, a battle ensued between the Na’tch and the Fire Giant. The bears tried to stop the great battle, but failed, even with Ursa’s power. Finally, the combat moved to the ice plain. Finally, both sides grew tired, and their strategies grew more desperate. Speaking with the dragon, Ursa learned that the Fire Giant planned to use fire to destroy the Na’tch. Knowing that this would also melt the ice, Ursa attempted to dissuade the beast. However, the dragon refused and continued the plan. So, Ursa gathered the bears and they surrounded the ice plain. They called upon the power of our spirits, and pounded the ice with their paws!”
Amili closed her eyes, and saw the image in her mind, but through the view of a bear. She pounded the ice with strong front paws, and felt power run through her. Anka continued.
“The ice cracked, and with a mighty roar, the dragon fell through. Ursa’s and the beast’s eyes met, and an unseen message passed through them. The dragons eyes closed, and it succumbed to the bear’s power. Slowly, the bear’s pelts turned white, from a deep cream to a pure white. The Na’tch fell through the ice too, but kept falling to the water, and then the ice resealed. Ursa’s friend and guardian was locked in the ice forever, and the large ice rocks we see there now are the fallen scales of the Fire Giant. However, it is said that the Na’tch occasionally stirs, sending evil dreams and thoughts to those who threatens him, and those who could assist him. But Ursa spoke a prophecy when he passed to the spirit realm;
In a time of great darkness,
A trio will rise,
Through the smog and the despair,
And their spirits will shine brightly.
They will raise the fire,
And banish the fear,
They are descendants of I."
Anka sighed, and turned to The Dragon Point Plain. Amili rose, and left in search of her brother. Anka looked to the stars, and saw a picture. A picture of hope and brightness.
“The three have come.” She sighed.
So a mother’s tale ended.
And a legend began.
