Waitawa Bush
By Amelia Gibson
Tweet, tweet! I can hear the birds tweeting. Crunch, crunch I hear people stepping on the dried up leaves! I am in wonderland I thought to myself! But then I got interrupted by Mrs Fisher “Look around and then lie down and relax!” So I lay down on the dried up leaves, and closed my eyes!
“Okay everyone,” said Mrs Fisher, “Can you see the tree tops?”
“Yes” we all said.
“What else can you see class?”
I said “Birds flying and different shades of green, Mrs Fisher”
“Okay, as you can see Joshua Brown has collected some cicadas. Now lie down and close your eyes and into a whole other world”
I entered through a golden gate and into the magical Waitawa bush. Golden trees sparkling with green tree tops, it was amazing. There were cicadas and ants, birds and butterflies. I never wanted to leave. I felt so tired I wanted to go to sleep.
“Okay everyone, it’s time to go back to class!” interrupted Mrs Fisher. So that was the end of my best Waitawa bush experience.
