Sir Edmond Hillary
Early Life
Sir Edmond Hillary lived in Auckland, he was born in 1919. Hillary and his parents lived in Tuakau.
Family
His wife and daughter died in a plane crash. Hillary was shocked.
School Life
He was a healthy boy. He was very fast at climbing and running. He took up bee keeping.
Mount Everest
Mt Everest was 8850 meters above sea level. When he reached the top he put a flag up and said “I claim this”. He was concerned for the people and helped the Himalayan Trust. He was known around the world. He was a good man.
Later Life
After Everest he stopped and settled for a beekeeping job. He helped the Nepalise people build bridges, clinics, schools, hospitals and air strips.

Waitawa bush
In Waitawa bush the cicadas were making a zzzzzzzz sound like my dad’s phone. Waitawa bush branches were waving ,and the leaves were falling. I love playing in Waitawa bush!!
