Introduction
Sir Peter Jackson is a famous New Zealand movie director. He filmed many famous movies in New Zealand and America.
Childhood
Sir Peter Jackson grew up at Pukerua Bay as an only child. He was born on October 31st 1961. He likes to point out that his birthday falls on Halloween. He does that because he likes gore and horrors.
Career
Before he started his filming career he got an 8mm camera when he was 8 years old. He first filmed the cat drinking milk, made a puff of smoke with special effects and the cat had disappeared. He did lots of other experiments. He got a job as a photo engraver for the local post at the age of 17. With the money from the job he brought a 16mm camera to replace the 8mm one. Jackson’s first proper movie was Bad Taste. It was an R16 horror movie. He made many more gory movies in his early career.
Later Career
One of Jacksons most famous movies are the Lord of the Rings triology. He won 17 oscar awards for it. He is currently filming the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. In 2013 he will be filming The Hobbit: There and Back Again. He has also finished filming Tintin quite recently.
Movies
These are some of Jackson’s famous movies: Lord of the Rings, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, Dead Alive, King Kong, Tintin, District 9, Heavenly Creatures and Forgotten Silver. There are probably more.
Conclusion
Sir Peter Robert Jackson’s movies are famous world-wide. Thanks to Peter Jackson people could open weta workshop because Jackson donated lots of money.
