The end

Article posted May 19, 2012 at 02:17 AM GMT • comment • Reads 796

Throughout this year I have had plenty of experiences. I'm staying out of trouble and I have made a lot of friends. I have learned that at this school you can't be lazy and get by. You actually have to work to get a decent grade. I would probably change how lazy I was about doing school work throughout the semester I was here. Some advice for the future seventh graders...don't be lazy about your work because it's really hard to scramble around at the end and get good grades. Also become friends with your teachers because they can hook you up with a lot of good sources and maybe even persuade you into getting on a great sports team.

I thought the experience was good but too much preparation for such a small activity. I learned that Mexico’s money is pesos. I would change the size if I could. The best part of the whole thing was that the kids were in charge.

Seedfolk

I think that the format is ok but kind of jumpy. It jumps from person to person in each chapter and I don't really like that. I think the big idea is that in the beginning the community wasn't a community. But in the end they came together. I like the little girl who started all of it and the boy who sleeps in the lot with a pitch fork. I only remember doing one activity for seed folks and that was with Mr.Howard. We made flowers out of aluminum cans. It was really fun.

I'm really excited for summer break because I'm going to California for almost the whole summer. Plus before I leave I might go to six flags or to a concert.

Chicken wings

When we dissected the chicken wing it was kind of fun and difficult because when you tried to hold it, it slipped out of your hands. I learned that if you find one of the tendons you can control how it moves. It was worthwhile because I also learned that the bone marrow is reddish.

Earnest Green

My reaction to the story was that it was very harsh. If I were in that situation I would have quit or gotten into a fight on the first day. I would not have had the courage to do that because I don’t like someone being able to do something I can’t. Things have changed a lot because we don't use our own military to stop different races from going somewhere. There is still a lot of discrimination going on today.

Penguin prep poem

Article posted March 1, 2012 at 10:41 PM GMT • comment • Reads 726

At the top
of the iceberg
against another penguin
at the edge
above another ledge
below the sun
with black flippers
with a white chest
sliding across the slick ice
into the freezing cold water
into the deep ocean
was a fish
with slimy wet gills
to breath underwater
to survive as a fish
under the deep blue sea

Blood is thicker than water:unkown

The quote is saying
that no matter what
family will be there for you.
Although friends might not
be there for you
or they could betray you
when you last expect them to.

In science I am learning about cells and all the different types of cells.I am also learning about all the parts of cells.I Know that each cell has a nucleus except a bacteria cell. The worst part is the amount we have to write down in our notebooks and there are some labs involved.one lab we did was involving a chemical that when given co2 it turns greenish.
