Yes I Can!!!

I am in total agreement with the fact that marketing and media really affect us. I have often sat back and wondered why people just find it so hard to be real. It is so much easier to become someone that your not I guess. Marketing and Media have made this possible. We have learned to become a resemblance of what we are exposed to throughout the Media outlets. I find this very disturbing! If we could just learn to just be ourselves than everything we set out to do in life, becomes much easier.Being something you are not takes up so much of your energy. Hopefully though, I believe that more awareness to this growing epidemic will start to plot a new direction in the course of self identity. Here's to the real people in our lives!!!

Connections: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Article posted April 15, 2012 at 01:37 PM GMT • comment • Reads 178

Wow, I'm sure glad that is over! I mean that in a great way by the way. I must have reworked this article at least a dozen times. Every time though I found a new flow to the way the reader might respond. I really think that I need to work on writing as I feel there is a great book in myself that needs to be told. This was a fantastic start.
I know that I learned the hardest part to writing is the editing and revisions. I never really paid attention to the many different ways to say something, but now know to be aware. Overall I think that I did a mediocre assignment but vow to get better. I really think that I need to learn how to make a proper conclusion and with practice I am sure to achieve this.Looking forward to learning all about Media as this plays such a huge part in building the personalities of each and every one of us.

What Makes Me Happy!!!

Article posted March 22, 2012 at 02:31 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 217

OMG, I have no idea where to start! I guess you can say that living a good life is someplace to start. I know from experience that being challenged with one affliction or another changes the way we view our everyday life. Take for instance the mentally challenged. What might seem to bring us happiness may bring them horrors and vice-versa. We tend to take life too seriously and need to take a moment and sit back and enjoy all the little things that life offers. Enjoy these and life can be very rewarding.

What we have Learned!!!

Article posted March 15, 2012 at 02:56 PM GMT • comment • Reads 212

I am always amazed at the different way we use language in our every day lives. We can say things in the negative and get a negative result in return. Or we can say things in the positive and end up with a positive result. An example of this would be saying something like "Honey don't forget the milk" or "Honey remember the milk." The second being said in the positive usually gets a positive result.I have learned through experience to say things in the positive light. We get a only one chance to say things correctly, and still I find that most people are not aware of any difference.

Intimacy and the Internet!

Article posted March 13, 2012 at 01:10 AM GMT • comment (3) • Reads 255

Wow, what a loaded question? What would I do if the internet dissappeared? I guess I have an advantage over everyone else as I do remember those days. It seems as though it was just yesterday, but we have allowed it to control every aspect of our lives. I honestly would not know what "I" would do.
I really believe that our lives have become way to dependent on the online experience, and that if we don't change quickly it will be too late. I don't know if we can do that. Pretty scary stuff to even ponder. Well for better or worse, I guess we will have to wait and see!!!

Reading Outside of Class

Article posted March 1, 2012 at 03:50 PM GMT • comment • Reads 235

I really don't do a whole lot of reading when I am not in class. I used to spend a lot of time reading fiction, with the likes of authors such as, Steven King, Dean R Koontz, V.C.Andrews, and so on. I really enjoyed these as they opened up my mind to different ideas.
Most of my reading these days are online. Places like You-Tube, Google+, and Facebook. I basically do minimal activity as I am losing my eyesight to older age. I look over advertisments that interest me and notice that fonts change according to what appeals to the eye. I hope that I will learn to read all the different types of literature that there is. I know that one day there is a book inside of me that truly needs to be written.

New Classes!!!

Part 1: Wow, to think that I have finally made it back to school at age 47. I guess that saying of miracles never ceasing holds true. I have a totally awesome teacher and a very diverse group of students. I am amazed that an elementary school, has turned into an adult education center.
I am taking grade 11 ELA and were off to a great start. We have studied the inner workings of short stories and started doing our first blog.
I truly am looking forward to this class and learning all about story writing.I believe that I have a story in me that really needs to be told.I see an awesome class about to unfold.
Part 2:I will study my hardest to make sure that I succeed and I will not be afraid of asking questions. I would like to see my marks as being in the 85% to 90% range.I will not let the other students interfere with my learning. I have to do this for myself.
