If the internet dissappeared tomorrow it would really suck, but we'd be able to adapt. We depend on the internet for a lot of things now thats its been around for so long. There is a lot of other ways to get the information we need.. newspapers, articles, people around us. But it is so helpful for school purposes, for research and for us at home. If we had no internet we would find ways to get our information and we would eventually adapt do our other sources of communication!

I actually can think of a few things that are ridiculous, and make me happy at the same time. For example, I hate waking up early in the morning when i have no reason to, but at the same time i love it! Just the feeling of waking up in the nice crisp morning when the sun is coming up, drinking coffee and just enjoying nice quiet time to myself. One thing that is kind of ridiculous that makes me happy is watching my dogs be super silly and play tug-a-war, they love it and watching them is comforting to me. Sitting here i can think of something else .. I looove my tim hortons mug at home for coffee, and every morning i will pick that specific cup, never another one; which is pretty ridiculous but it makes me happy :)

It is really important to practice writing skills both in and out of class! I have a number of different ways I do this but the one I find most effective is evaluating the texts, analyzing and understanding it then critically responding. This is really helpful when you are reading, to just think about what theyre trying to tell us and make specific connections so that you can respond and give your opinon.I will continue to practice this skill outside of class, for example .. watching a really good or interesting movie or even a show, then just brainstorming your ideas to do a critical response. I can also practice this skill while reading other texts from books, magazines, articles. It helps to read it again if you don't totally understand , then doing a critical response on what you read, giving your thoughts and ideas!

I actually do quite a bit of reading out of class. I have picked quite a few really good books in the past, one of them is called Where the Red Fern Grows. The book is amazing , I think I told you about it in the test blog's that we did! The detail in the writing, and the plot of the story was just wonderful; i really enjoyed reading this book. Other reading I do outside of school would be reading the newspaper a lot at work, I like reading newspaper for the fact that they fill you in with quite a bit of interesting information. These newspaper and articles in the paper are very effective in the way that the information is really good to know, and gives us an idea of whats going on in our city/world. The crosswords on the last few pages of the paper are actually my favourite to do!  My strategies for reading effectivly would be a nice place where I can wind down and read a good novel. I find peace and quiet works well and I can really concentrate and get into the story! :)

Part 1) My first impressions of this class were really good. This is my first year in Adult Ed and im actually really enjoying it! The school is super close, both to where i live and where i work. Having it so close to everything is a huge advantage for me. The teachers in Mcleod Education Center are awesome and have been really helpful, its totally different (in a good way) then being in highschool! This course seems like its going to be alot of fun with Jody! I enjoy being in English class, and i think these blogs are a super cool way to write and express how we feel!

Part 2) This semester im going to make sure I make it to every class I can! Showing up to every class really is important and has a lot of effect on how you do in school.Missing a class (3 hours per class) is missing alot of work and can lead to misunderstanding work and assignments. I also will be doing homework (5 hours a week) which will be about an hour a day to make sure im completing everything on time and at my best ability. Doing homework every day is a good routine and keeps your brain refreshed on what you ve learned! Another really important way to ensure im going to succeed is to make sure Im staying focused!
