Well my first impression of this class was a little disappointing due to the fact that in my previous school I was in grade twelve English; and I was doing very well. Although I have enjoyed this class, an interaction with fellow students and it doesn’t hurt having a lifelong friend in the class. As far it goes for the building I think it’s got an easy lay out; not too hard to find the class rooms. The work that we have been doing so far is pretty easy but still has its challenges; I look forward to the rest of the course. Now as far as other students in the class I have begun to start relationships with some of them; I hope to start more with other classmates.

Thing’s I plan on doing this semester to ensure I succeed are  pretty simple; attend class regularly, make sure that all assignments are complete and handed in on time. I also plan on asking questions about thing’s I don’t understand, as well as helping others with problems they don’t understand. Pretty much just be as involved as I can.

here!

My first impressions so far of this school have been a good one. My teachers have been great. Jody has been easy going and very down to earth. She seems very well suited to her job as an adult ed teacher. The students have been friendly and eager to lend a hand when needed.
I have enjoyed the work so far, most notably I liked the short stories we have read.
I think the thing I will have to do to ensure I succeed as an adult student is, I will have to make an effort to show up to class every day.

My first impressions of this class were that it was pretty much the same as the grade 10 class. I find it rather easy but enjoy it. I think these classmates are really friendly, I like meeting new people while getting my school done. When I first took Jody’s class I didn’t think I was going to like it, but since I’ve finished one of her classes I rather enjoy her class and like how she teaches.
I’m going to work my hardest to ensure I get my work done and handed in. I’m going to go out of my way to make sure I pass this class. I’m going to listen and pay attention to the assignments and do them when they are handed to me.

My first impression of the call was good. I felt a good vibe when i walked into the classroom on the first day . The classmates all looked friendly, room was big . The teacher seemed very nice and I was happy that i had a younger teacher . The work that we have doneso far has been pretty good, its more of a review then work right now tho. I like the short stories, its somthing that i can work on all the time. I still need to get preactis with the plot, climax and all that still but ill get it sooner or later. Everything seems good about this class, and the out line looks pretty great aswell. This semester to ensure that i succeed as an adult student im going to do my best to come to every single class and if i miss a class im going to make sure that i come and get the homework that was missed or get a friend to grab it. Im going to make sure that i try my harddest to do my work to the best of my abbility. Im also going to study when i need to. Im not going to let my self fall behind. Im going to make sure i do all the work that i need to do and in the best way that i can .

Supria C -- feelings about athe class and the semester

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 04:16 PM GMT • comment • Reads 220

The first impression of this class was hard for me because of the English Language. This is not my first Language. I'll try my best to improve myself for English Language. Jody is my teacher in grade11. She explains the questions very well and when we need help, she helps us. I enjoying having her for the English Langauge. Some classmate are new in the class and they are nice to each others. In few weeks, I feel comfortable in the class. In this semester, I'll be on time and never be absent in the class. My goal is to achieve good grade and try to finish my homework.

Petra C -- New School

(Part 1) My first impression of this school has been a very positive one. It was hard for me to get back to school after having my second child. This is my first time at this school and coming back to school in about 6 years. I was very anxious as well about coming to a new school, meeting new people, new teachers, new environment and the demands of having two children at home. I very quickly realized though that the teachers are amazing and want you to succeed and go out of their way to make that happen for you as long as your fully committed as well. The teachers are very understanding and accommodating if you do need to miss a class, by giving you the work you need or giving you more time to complete the assignments when you do come to class. The classroom is a very positive environment you can feel that when you walk in. All the classmates are friendly and welcoming , and you can tell that everyone is determined to do well in this class. English is honestly my favourite subject by far, and everything we are doing right now I love. Writing is one of my passions and I loved writing my autobiography and doing the short story question answers.

(Part 2) To ensure that I succeed this year I am staying focused and looking at the bigger picture, reminding myself that I am doing this because I want to be a the best role model for my children and that my goal is to get into nursing school but first I need to graduate high school in order to do that. I am making sure that I finish all of my assignments and that I show up to as many classes as I can. I am also just giving one hundred percent of my effort into school now, because I do realize it is one of the most important things you will do in life.

Since this is my first semester in Adult Education, my first impressions of the school was that it’s a very small. I was happy because I’d be more intimidated that I wouldn’t be able to get the help I needed if it was a huge school. The class rooms are big but the amounts of students are small. I really enjoy the fast pace of the classes I’m taking English grade eleven and Math grade twelve because I won’t get bored of what I’m learning. The work we’ve done so far has been pretty easy for me except for a few assignments, but for the upcoming assignments in English I’m kind of nervous just because we need to do essays, I hate essays there so confusing to me. I am very comfortable already in my classes. I love coming to school because my teachers and classmates are very welcoming and encouraging if I need help no one discriminates against me, they just do what they can to help.

To ensure that I will succeed in my courses I will attend every class ,ask as many questions as needed , finish all assigned work and to do the best of my abilities.

Daniel E -- First Impressions

I'm liking this class so far, I got a good seat at the back of the room and our teacher is really good. I'm familiar with this building because i've been here before for SHARP I don't know what it stands for but I know its for people that dropped out of highschool. I like that there are enough spaces in the classroom so no one has to sit beside me. what I will do to succeed in this course is try to show up everyday and try not to be late so I don't miss anything important because missing one class is missing three hours which is a long time and alot of work.

My first impression of the school was a good one. I liked all the staff that I had met during my registration. I really liked the size of the school it’s more of a comfortable setting. In the class room I found the course outline familiar because I have taken this grade level class a few times already but it had some new aspects about it that I really liked. I found that my class mates where really friendly and I was really glad to find that Sam was in my class because we have been friends for years now. To ensure I have success in this class I plan to attend as regularly as possible as well as keep up with all my work. I want to make a large effort in all the work I had in and ask questions about anything I don’t understand.

Noel G -- Blog #1: My First Impression

Article posted February 28, 2012 at 03:13 PM GMT • comment • Reads 185

This is my first time attending McLeod Adult Ed. My first impression of the school was that it was small, but this made me think that the class sizes would also be smaller and therefore the teachers would have more time to spend one on one with the students. My first impression of my English class was that it might be difficult considering my level of education. It's been 7 years since the last time I took any academic courses or attended school so I was pretty nervous, but after meeting my classmates and getting the feeling that I wasn't alone in my stiuation I felt a lot more confident. My first impression of my teacher Jody was that she looked young and willing to help her students in anyway possible.

What I plan to do in order to succeed in this course is try to keep up to date with all my assignments, ask for help when needed and make a commitment to attend all classes so that I don't fall behind in my progress.

Well, my first impression of this class was good. I really liked that the teacher created a postive enviroment that allowed me to feel comfortable with this class. even though I didn't get enough time to memorize all the student's name, I am really looking forwad to get to know more about my classmates and my teacher as well.  This is not my first class in this school. I started a year ago. I took English and Math grade 10, and Biology grade 11. I would say that the lessons we have done so far are excellent, and the course outline is perfect.

I would like to do many things this semester to ensure that my succeed as an adult student. First of all I will attend my classes regularly, and I will be on time. For instance, if I won't miss any classes it will be easy for me to understand every single lesson we take. Secondly, I will make sure to hand in all the minor assignments before or at least the due date, and it will help me to correct and to do better my major assignments. I would like to do my best.

Part 1) My first impressions of this class were really good. This is my first year in Adult Ed and im actually really enjoying it! The school is super close, both to where i live and where i work. Having it so close to everything is a huge advantage for me. The teachers in Mcleod Education Center are awesome and have been really helpful, its totally different (in a good way) then being in highschool! This course seems like its going to be alot of fun with Jody! I enjoy being in English class, and i think these blogs are a super cool way to write and express how we feel!

Part 2) This semester im going to make sure I make it to every class I can! Showing up to every class really is important and has a lot of effect on how you do in school.Missing a class (3 hours per class) is missing alot of work and can lead to misunderstanding work and assignments. I also will be doing homework (5 hours a week) which will be about an hour a day to make sure im completing everything on time and at my best ability. Doing homework every day is a good routine and keeps your brain refreshed on what you ve learned! Another really important way to ensure im going to succeed is to make sure Im staying focused!

Part 1: Wow, to think that I have finally made it back to school at age 47. I guess that saying of miracles never ceasing holds true. I have a totally awesome teacher and a very diverse group of students. I am amazed that an elementary school, has turned into an adult education center.
I am taking grade 11 ELA and were off to a great start. We have studied the inner workings of short stories and started doing our first blog.
I truly am looking forward to this class and learning all about story writing.I believe that I have a story in me that really needs to be told.I see an awesome class about to unfold.
Part 2:I will study my hardest to make sure that I succeed and I will not be afraid of asking questions. I would like to see my marks as being in the 85% to 90% range.I will not let the other students interfere with my learning. I have to do this for myself.

my first inpresion of the class was, when I saw yunger people at the class I was afried because I thought this is goint to hard for me ,but not I'm here working hard and trying to do my best. The room is nice and cozy vey inviting especially with all my friends on it .My classmates from grade 10 are awesome and we have a good relationship and we help us each other and now we are making new friends in this class for me is not hard making friends because I'm very friendly girl, and I think I a little bit loud; I enjoy having a good time with my classmates.
The building is in good conditions and very clean ,friendly people and the ofice staff is so helpful to us .I been here at school for almost a year and I think is one of my best desicion that I made since I came to Canada.
I was a little worried about my new teacher but now I think she is nice and very helpful teacher now I feel more confident and I love my class now even that I know the homeworks and assignments are harder I feel fine and confident.
So far the work that we have done are fine, and I hope to learn alot.

This is a two part blog:

Part 1) What are your first impressions of this class (and, if this is your first time here, the school)? Consider everything: the building, the room, your classmates, myself (your teacher), the work we have done so far, the work we plan to do, the course outline in general, etc.

Part 2) What will you do this semester to ensure that you succeed as an adult student? Be specific.

Reminder: Your blogs should be at least one full paragraph in length (I would expect no less than five sentences in a paragraph at the grade 11 level). Please explain yourself fully, using specific detail.

This school is great.I like most of the students, the teachers are all very nice and dont treat us like ediots which is nice. The school is far from home which sucks. It is a long drive every morning.Gotta wake up a bit earlier and im not a morning person. The class and work is a little difficult but getting used to it.Hate bloging ,slow typer two finger it all lol.I intend to pass this class with flying colors it will take some time but i will do it.oh ya the stories are pretty cool i like The Nest can kinda relate to it.Will work as hard as i can to get an a gotta take my time on asssinments to ensure it.Bye.

Angelika S -- This Semester...

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 04:16 PM GMT • comment • Reads 233

I started in September of last year. I really like this school, the students, and the teachers! I met some people last semester that are in my English class now, and we’re all really good friends already! The work we have done seemed like a lot at once, but I was able to get it all done ok. It’s a lot different than gr.10 English, but some of the notes are still the same.

I will try to get as much work done in class as I can. I’ll get my homework done, and study for tests. If I need help on any assignments I’ll ask Jody, some students, or my sister Justyna. I will try my best in class and when I have homework. I’ll try to attend every class early, and hand in my assignments before they’re due or on the due date.
