One skill i want to continue practicing would be thinking about the way i use my language and put my words together so they make more sense and tell a good story. In person and on paper. I feel like i need to organize that a little more. Because i start to write something out on a peice of paper and then all of a sudden i re read it to myself i can see many flaws. But when i am writing it, it seems fine to me. This could be improved by reading more i believe.

One skill I can continue to practice outside the classroom is thinking about the way I use my language. I can practice this by taking a moment and thinking how I can word or write something. I can use different techniques like re-reading texts, or reading them backwards to make sure they make since. I can practice explaining ideas and thoughts more clearly by using different wording, and by not swearing as much. But I think overall it will improve the most in my writing, because that way I can see it written and just double or triple check it.

I like to practice using text to text the most often. I love reading, so I am often comparing the internet's information with the subjects I like to read about in my magazines. For example, I usually cross-reference vehicle specifications between different publications and different internet sites. I often compare my cookbook recipes by matching up with other people's recipes on the internet. I also like to compare airfare and trip prices using the internet and the newspaper.

I decided to write about explaining and supporting your ideas. The first way you can make sure you fully explain your ideas is to write exactly what you are writing about in your introduction, meaning fully explain your ideas. You can support your ideas by giving examples or reasons why, or explain it to the fullest you can. I think you have to know what you’re writing to explain and support it properly. Those are ways that I would explain and support my ideas.

Thinking about the way I use language is one way in which i can continue to practice outside of the classroom . So when im about to text someone or facebook someone I can think of better ways to write my words. I can start to think of bigger better names and way to write . Looking at my words to make sure that they are spelt the right way is another way to improve.

In the past few weeks you have had the opportunity to read/view/listen to a variety of texts and practice your writing skills in relation to these texts and ideas discussed in class. Specifically, you have practiced:
• Making text to text, text to self, and text to world connections in order to understand and make meaning
• Explaining and supporting your ideas
• Thinking about the way you use language (i.e. the words you use and how you put them together)
• Evaluating texts and responding critically
Next week you will start your first 'major' writing assignment, which will require you to use all of these skills. For this blog I would like you to choose ONE SKILL listed above and discuss ways in which you can continue to practice it outside of the classroom in your daily life. Remember, this blog should be at least 5 sentences in length and should fully explain your ideas.
Marjor assignment will be challenge for me because i need more help with grammer. I try my hard to finish my homework on time and I will always finished my homework. The skill need for practice is making text to text, text to self and text to world connections in order to understand and making meaning. Suporting to the ideasand thinking about to use languages. I want to practice all the skills because I really want to know this language how to write perfectly and how to use grammer correctly. I'm enjoying english work.I want to do practice it outside the school by reading books, going to internet and doing extra assignment. I try to read and go internet daily for the extra work. I want to do all the skill because I want to know ''How we could use enlish language correctly.'' I hope I will get it.

One thing I can continue to practice is my use of language. I tend to always be on my cell phone texting and without even thinking I will use "text talk".I tend to shorten words or use two letters such as jk instead of saying just kidding, shortening other words and, I hardly to never use punctuation either. I have been working on spelling everything out and spelling it properly when I text now and when im online sending an email or a message. I have also been doing a lot of reading which is really helping me see proper use of language and punctuation as well.

One skill i need to practise outside the classroom is the words I use and how I put them together.By writhing more and trying to use the dictionary to find the meaning of words that I dont know. Another way i can learn is by listening to how other people express their opinions or feelings.I would like to improve my punctuation and grammar.

some ways I could use these skills outside of the classroom is first trying to remember to even do these "skills" outside of class. some things I can do to practice evaluating texts and responding critically is jot down notes of the things im watching or reading just to help me remember what is being said. and some things I can do to help me respond critically is get all the key points that are being said. if I did these things like jotting down notes of what im reading or watching it will help me get better and help me better understand what im watching or reading. another thing I can do for evaluating texts is re-reading what I dont understand or go over the work I write down until I have no mistakes and I fully understand it.

Outside of class I don’t do a lot of reading, although I always read magazines. I like to read magazines to keep up with celebrity gossip and lot into the latest fashions. I like to read the free press to keep up with current events in Winnipeg as well as in Canada. I also read text messages daily and the things on my twitter timeline. A lot of the time when I’m reading I have to go back and re read what I just read to fully comprehend the text.

I would like to work on my grammer and punctuation. it would help me out in my daily life and at my work. I would like to learn how to write and not be worried that people wont understand. learning in class and getting help from jody is nice but another way for me would be to pay more atention to how articles or stories are written and not what they are about.

One skill from ELA that I can apply outside of class would be explaining and discussing my ideas. I could practice this by group discussion with family and friends where I'm able to comunicated my thoughts and ideas on certain subjects. For example, if I'm having a conversation with someone and I want to state my opinion I could practice explaining my perspective and discussing any opinions and ideas I have related to it.

The object of a critical response is to provide a thorough explanation of my understanding of a story or a documentary. First of all, I have to read or listen at least ones, and understand the main idea that the author wants to convey. Secondly, I have to jot down the opinions that the author mentioned. Then I have to agree or disagree the author’s idea, and make evidence about my argument. I have to support and make full explanation about my respond. I also have to do the necessary additional to make sure my knowledge is accurate and complete.

It is really important to practice writing skills both in and out of class! I have a number of different ways I do this but the one I find most effective is evaluating the texts, analyzing and understanding it then critically responding. This is really helpful when you are reading, to just think about what theyre trying to tell us and make specific connections so that you can respond and give your opinon.I will continue to practice this skill outside of class, for example .. watching a really good or interesting movie or even a show, then just brainstorming your ideas to do a critical response. I can also practice this skill while reading other texts from books, magazines, articles. It helps to read it again if you don't totally understand , then doing a critical response on what you read, giving your thoughts and ideas!

I tnink that it is very important to use and learn proper language in our daily lives. We can learn proper language from the reasorces avalible for us like school, books, T.V., internet and listening to the radio. In the diffrent places that we visit, we will have to use the proper langauge that they are using so you will have to learn it. If we use proper langauge in our daily lives, people will think that we are very well educated.

I am always amazed at the different way we use language in our every day lives. We can say things in the negative and get a negative result in return. Or we can say things in the positive and end up with a positive result. An example of this would be saying something like "Honey don't forget the milk" or "Honey remember the milk." The second being said in the positive usually gets a positive result.I have learned through experience to say things in the positive light. We get a only one chance to say things correctly, and still I find that most people are not aware of any difference.

Working on writing skills is crucial. practising out side the class room is as easy as reading a bill board and relating to the text or reading the news paper. If only I could write down the ideas that come to mind after seeing or reading texts. Thats where I could use the practice. I wonder if any one would read about my opinions?

I've learned that given our own ideas or opinion about articles is very intersting because my opinion or ideas are different with others and is kaind of intersting when we talk about it . everybody has differents ideas or opinions some ideas or articles are very interesting and we can used them to help us in our life or to make something working, but others ideas are hard to believe or understand. for my I can support an idea if is based on God's rules, but I respect others opinions and what they believes, having a debate with others about articles is fun and interesting for me, learning new thinks and ideas it help me to understan others about their opinions.

In the past couple weeks we've practiced writing skills, reading and viewing a variety of texts.
I think that working on explaining and supporting my ideas outside of class would be a good benefit to my writing and critical thinking.
i also think that evaluating and responding critically is a valuble skill as it can help me make text to text, text to self, and text to world connections.
Regardless i think that all these skills should be practiced frequantly not only at school but home also.

When I use language I always think first about what I’m going to say.
This way I don’t use the wrong use of words. To not have others misinterpret what I want to say, I also have to write it out if I’m writing something. But it’s so interesting how I’m always learning new words all the time.

If I agree or disagree with something someone says; it could be family or friends also. Stating my own opinions to people about different things. I could write down my ideas on paper, or type them up on a computer. If someone’s talking about a certain topic and I have my own thoughts and opinions about it I could tell them what they are. I could try to support my own ideas by backing up what I’m saying or writing.
