I was not surprised to hear that a lot of the information found on the internet may not be as accurate as you would think. I myself rarely search the internet when doing any kind of research, especially for academic purposes. It was actually news to me that there is no real “process” of evaluation before posting information online, for some reason I thought there was some sort of publishing process for that. I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to research, I like to dig out my library card, head down and look up every book or video they have available on the subject. I can trust that any source of information found at a public library has undergone the proper publishing process and the facts and information are valid and trustworthy. I am big on doing research on my own time, I get very interested in random topics and spend hours at the library reading everything I can until I feel I know enough to have a detailed conversation or debate about it with someone. I am such a geek!
I have already been to the library for information on my research topic. I did check some stuff out online first and got very disorganized, confused, and unsure. I quickly gave up on the net and found everything I needed in a matter of minutes at the library and got so much done in ample time. Also, the library itself is an ideal place for sitting at a table and getting tons of studying done. If your home is anything like mine, there are about 8563453 million things keeping me from concentrating.
