My plan to ensure that I will do well on this major assignment is to apply the skills that I have learned from all of our minor assignments. I am going to do my best at trying to use all of these skills to the fullest, and I will also have a good friend of mine look it over with me to make sure that I have not made any spelling mistakes and to correct any grammar issues. I will also use the owl website to make sure I do my citations correctly. I feel confident in using my new skills and plan on passing all of the major assignments.

Prapering for my major assigment was a little bit hard, since I go blank when is time to type. I had great ideas, opinions and enough material to make it into a 3 page assigment. I also remember lot of things that we have learned not only through grade 12 english but also through grade 11. Some issues that I had prapering this assigment was putting my ideas together and grammar. What I did is picked my 2 stories that I liked the most, and read them a couple of times to make sure I was getting the main idea. I also did a little bit of research on the internet looking for backgroud information. I hope I did well.

I think if the internet we're to vanish tommorrow would be one of the biggest epidemics of mankind. Our current generation is so entangled into the weave of the internet that i feel that so many people would not be able to handle or deal with the fact that they are not in constant connection with the world around them. In todays world we are literally one button press away from calling or sending a message to anyone in the world. Imagine if tommorrow you could not make plans with your buddy living across town. We are so connected as people in todays world that i belive we are uncapable of being seprated from each other from that bond. When is the last time you've made plans with a friend on the phone. I rarely ever do. its all by text or by web. Imagine a boy and girl in two different countries using skype(web based phone chat) or using facebook to mesasge each other for free. Would this couple still maintain a active relationship with each other. Its shocking that the internet shapes our news and our media but for a good. In most cases today twitter is used to break news. Rioters in England we're using bbm to track we're the police we're. its shocking but its today world! a connected global world.

In preparation for our major assignment I have been trying to get a full understanding of all of the different writing styles and ways of doing things when writing. I will work on putting more thought into my writing instead of doing my normal speed writing, though that is really just my style I will try to change it and see if my outcome is any better. Who knows it just might work? I will also work on making sure I have enough content and hope that i catch enough of my mistakes in the editing process.

Ever since I was given the outline of the major assignment I have been wondering how the heck I am going to come up with at least three pages to write about! But I also starting thinking hey I did end up writing a lot more than I would have ever thought I would in most of the assignments I have completed so far. I am getting prepared to complete this assignment because of the skills I have practiced relating text to text, like in the stories On the Sidewalk Bleeding compared to The Last Spin. The choices assignment where I had to write about a specific choice I made and why. Even analyzing a story or an article like in The Gist Generation. Actually all of the assignments I have completed including this blog are helping me prepare. Because I have completed all of the assignments, I know it will help me in successfully meeting the expected outcomes of the major assignment. To start preparing for the assignment, I have been looking over the quotes and cannot decide between two of the quotes. I am going to start jotting down some ideas for both of them and the one that I can ramble more about will be the starting base of the assignment.

At this point in the course, I have taken everything we have been taught and learned from each class and collaborated it to each new assignment we have been given to improve my writing, language and thinking skills and techniques.

In preparing for the major assignment, I took into consideration these skills and techniques, most of which I have miraculously improved in and portrayed them to my rough copy. One thing that will challenge my learning ability is to see how well I do when editing and revising my rough copy and then finishing the overall Assignment. Before jumping into the major assignment, I made sure to read the assignment outline thoroughly. After looking through the different quotes to choose from - I chose one that I felt had a strong meaning and connection to me then briefly overlooked our past articles and texts we've read for a connection to my quote.

The skills I have practised so far are Reading, understanding what I am reading, while righting I make sure I leave an indent on the top of each paragraph, I try to spell correctly, I try to use the wright kind of punctuation, and I also practised presenting to an audience. Overall I have practised reading righting, and presentation. I have read several different short stories inside and outside of class so I am much better at understanding what I am reading. I have written lots of assignments such as essays so I am getting better at that. I know how to write an essay very well now. I am still nervous when it comes to presenting but I have learned some good presenting skills. Such as eye contact, a loud enough voice, passing myself, not talking to fast or to slow, and answering my questions clearly.

I have practiced by reading all the stories and by handing in all the minor assignments. For the major assignment I am preparing myself by making sure the story I have chosen On The Sidewalk Bleeding is the one I like the most. Make sure to read the story over again and take important notes. I will also try and do the best writing I can. And at the end when I’m done I will read it all over again and see where I need to improve my work.

I won’t lie; I haven’t done any preparation for our first major assignment. I spent all of spring break sicker than a dog. However the quote that I chose (for me) will be easy to write about. The only real skills that I have been working on are my writing skills, and typing. Although for this assignment I did the pre planning page to better organize my thoughts for this project. As far as what will I do to ensure that I complete the assignment and meet all requirements goes I will defiantly make sure to put aside an hour or two during the day to work on it, re-read it and follow the expectations of the teacher.

There was a lot I have forgotten since high school that I have picked back up, formatting, proper wording, making proper sentences, there was a lot I have gained that I hope I will remember for the exam, and for work when I need to fill out safety papers. Even when I mess up I find it easier to recognize it and correct it and finding out re reading the work helps out with finding the mistakes I didn't realize I made. I just have to work on is jumping from one idea to the next. But practice makes perfect and the more I work on it the more I find the work to be easier. Also re reading the question to fully understand what is asked of me to do.

The skills I have been practising with the minor assignments are definitely paying off as I work on this major assignment. Making a rough copy first is something I never use to do, but now that I am implementing that, I find that the idea’s are flowing more quickly and my pages fill up a lot faster than when I try to write everything perfect the first time.  I know that writing comes more easily to me when writing about something that interests me personally, so when preparing for my major assignment I was sure to choose the quote that most interested me on a personal level. I picked the two stories that I thought applied to the quote the most and re-read them and highlighted any area’s that I could refer to and use examples. I make sure to carry a pen and paper on me at all times so that whenever I randomly think of something I can use in my paper, I can write it down and work it into my rough copy when I get a chance. I know I’m very behind in my project since I had a very busy Easter weekend at home, but I am trying to catch up.

To ensure I will meet the outcomes of this assignment I am paying close attention to the assignment outline while writing, and will be checking my work for mistakes repeatedly before handing it in.

To prepare for the major assignment, my biggest obstacle was time management. I find the work fairly easy, but finding time to sit down and do the assignment in between work, singing, and my living situation was difficult. I started by thinking about which stories I found the most interesting, and which ones I could relate to my life the best. I thought about which texts compared to other texts best complimented the quotes and ideas I wanted to represent in my assignment. I found that once I started typing my rough copy it was fairly easy from there on out, the words just kept coming. Editing my rough copy was a bit of a challenge because I always find my first copy to be the best, so I decided not so much to move words and sentences around, but just instead focused on spelling and grammar.

I plan to prepare for this major assignment by taking all of the skills I’ve learnt from my minor assignments and put them all into my major assignment giving me an opportunity to better my grammar and writing skills. Going over all the stories and re-reading the outcomes will help me achieve my goal for a good mark on this assignment. I plan to do very well on my major assignments so hopefully this one can be a good start. There has been quite a bit of preparation prior to this assignment to get me back on track of how writing should be done for this assignment. I will also work on this outside of class to make sure that i will have put forth all my effort to do well.

To prepare for the major assignment, I'm going to go over the previous stories and review some of the minor assignments to refresh my memory (and maybe steal some ideas of how to write). I will go over the instructions many times to fully understand what to do. I'll jot down ideas when they come up and edit them accordingly. Then I analyze and revise. I'm going to focus on writing from the heart, putting feeling into what I write.
Taking the time to do all of this is the hardest and most important test for my brain.

For the major assignment I will pick a story, start a planer, do a rough copy, edit it, right good copy and take a look over the assignment.

(Res .I .ha .ta)

Plan time to do the assignment outside of school, make sure to edit or proof read more than once never hurts to make sure you've found all your mistakes. To make sure I can meet the outcomes try my best, follow rubric and check to see if looks good before handing IN.

i will start by making a outline of my essay, and think of the quotes, points, and stories that i will use.  Then make a rough draft using the assigments that i completed to help me think of what to say.  I will use alot of the skills that we learnt throughout the class, and make sure i double check my work.

I haven't made any difference as far as preparations, I'm just gonna be confident in what i have learned thus far with the minor assignments, and should I have any issues at all, I know the best and hardest working teacher, Jody, will help me with any questions i may have.

For the major assignment, I started by working on the planning frame. I like when there is more structure to writing and when you have the tools to help you plan and figure out what it is you are going to write about makes it a lot easier.
I haven’t been working on this major assignment over the break but now that I’m getting back into the swing of things with school, I can set my mind on it more. Going over the minor assignments we got back helps a lot. I can see where I went wrong and what things I did right. I am also taking advantage of the time we have in class to work on this assignment because it’s very hard to work on it at home with a one year old running around. I think all the minor assignments we’re done help with skills because each one was a different type of writing, like text to text, text to world, and all that I think will help a lot with this major assignment.
