This course was hard for me because almost everything was a repeat from the last two years. It was more of a challenge because there was more outcomes expected this year and more length as well. I was able to get it done, but I think I would have done better if there were new things instead of the ones I already did. This discouraged me sometimes because I felt like I knew what I had to do but just did not get into it as much this time around. I also felt like we were rushed threw some of the parts in this class maybe it is because I went four days a week before and only two days this semester. I would have liked to have had more in class time to work on things. I do more work when I am not at home and have so many distractions around me. All in all I was still able to get a decent mark this year and happy that I will be graduating this year. I will be done high school finally wooooo hoooooo! My next goal in life is to go to RRC and get into health and safety.

I belive this class have helped me alot. This class have not only helped me with my writing, reading and understanding, but also to be able to reach my goal. What I like the most is that slowly I been able to understand how to communicate better and even to be able to express myself better. I had a great time, I just wish I wouldnt of missed some classes, because being behind for a while, was a bit hard. Thank you very much for all the help and support.

I feel very similiar to how i felt when i first started the course. back in the beginning of the semster. i enjoyed the freedom and respect the course offered me. i missed a bit of class this year but was given the chance and help to catch up when i fell behind. the course compeletely met my expectations i was extremely scared of english when i first entered the course and when i left i feel extremely condifent in myself. i feel i met alot of the goals i set out for myself i strived after reviewing my first blog i said alot about putting in effort and putting my good foot forward. and this year i really felt i put in the effort to be succuessful in the course. My grammar has imporved and iam very proud of myself for that. as i before i felt it lacked alot so to see myself improve puts a huge smile on my face.

Looking over the last five months that I have spent in class I have learned new strategies in writing and more importantly thinking about the meaning of a story, music ect... and what message the auther or artist is trying to say. I enjoyed my time in the class and to have Jody as a teacher she is a very good teacher. Always willing to help. It's a great class.

Looking back on my firsrt blog I feel almost the same. Jody you were a great teacher I feel I learned alot in your class. I learned how to pace myself when needed but to push myself if I had to. I will miss English class actually it was nice to run into someone I had not seen in twenty some years! I did make some new friends and had some good times in class. I wish we could have done at least one novel study, I mean it didn't have to be on War and Peace or anything but there are some short novels that could have been used. That would be something you could try doing in future classes. All in all I did the best I could and I learned some new things as well. Thank you for the experience and best of luck to all of you!!

I did enjoy this course more than I ever thought I would. We did not read any books like I thought we might but had read many interesting articles, short stories and poems to be analyzed in ways that opened my eyes and mind that has enriched my life with a skill on how to communicate better verbaly and in writting. I still feel that I have a way to go to the level that I would like to obtain, but it is a step in the right direction. I have always been a numbers girl but this English course has opened my mind to possibly going into another direction in my career. I did dread the presentations however am proud that I did do them and it is a good skill to practise. The course did more than meet my expectations, I found myself talking to my friends and family about some of the interesting things that I had heard and learnt within the class. I did meet my goal, I finished the course with a passing mark and not just a passing mark like when I was in high school, I can honestly say I tried my best. The only thing that I would change is the final exam to be done on the computer, otherwise thanks Jodi you were a great teacher.

Looking back at my first blog, I can say my feelings haven’t changed much. I found class to be quiet enjoyable and I am actually sad it will be ending soon. I liked everything about this course, specifically the idea of not having to read any novels or doing book reports and also having options when it came down to presentations. I wouldn’t change a single thing about the course. I am happy with all the assignments we’ve done and my progress during the class. I have gained a lot more confidence, better social skills as well as friends. I have met all the goals and then some. I knew I was fully capable of whatever I put my mind but believing in myself I think was the final push to my progress of this course.

From the first day walking into this class to know I feel I have improved, maybe not as much as i have wanted too but I did better then last semester. I'm glad that I have gotten this oppertunity to graduate. I really hope I do but if not I'm just going to have to try again. the people in this class were great. Nobody had any beef with anyone else. I'm glad for that.

I actually am very happy the year is over but at the same time sad that it is over I had allot of fun in this class. It was very easy to understand what you were trying to teach us and I felt like you were very easy going and were always there to answer my questions. Personally I wouldn’t have wanted anything else from this class it was perfect!

After reviewing my very first blog and reflecting upon what I wrote, I can say that this course most definitely meets my expectations as far as reading and writing went. Topics were thoroughly discussed in class, everybody participated with tremendous effort, and it was actually one of the better classes that I have taken recently. I was given a lot of new and informative ways of going about my writing (work cited, figurative language use). I enjoyed the opportunity to refresh my research and essay skills, along with presentations, which is exactly what I signed up for. I’ve also noticed that my typing has drastically improved, as well as my word usage. For all of this I am grateful. Thanks Teach. Everybody enjoy your summer, I think we’ve all earned it.

I am glad it’s almost over, I can’t wait till I don’t have to be at school anymore and I learned that no one can hear you piss in that storage closet bathroom, so that’s good . Shit it was just as much work as high school, I thought it was going to be easy, but I was wrong. I have learned more than I thought I was going to. I just hope that I don’t have to do it again because showing up and missing over time at work was killing me. The way we went over things was if a day was missed it was a little hard to get back on track and but it was nothing that was too hard to get done after a weekend. The class couldn’t of been that hard that most of the class was still there at the end so that must mean it was planned well.

After reviewing my first blog, I see that I had a pretty good idea of what the course was going to be like. Instructions were carefully explained; plenty of time, encouragement, and assistance were supplied to us by Jody with each assignment.
Through all of the skills we went through, I began to notice what were my strengths and weaknesses. I’ve always thought of myself as a pretty good writer, but I really didn’t realize how poor I was at coming up with written pieces under time restrictions. I think I have improved at this throughout the course, although I am still a bit concerned about the final exam, because I tend to get nervous and have brain blockages during any exams.
I have learned a lot about how to express idea’s in an effective, organized manner. I believe this will come in handy often, and now that I have become more skilled at it, I can continue to improve these skills over time. I am satisfied with the outcomes of this course and I think it was the perfect class to finish off my grade 12. Thanks Jody, Wouldn’t change a thing!!

I thought this course was awesome. Passing was my goal and so I acheived it. All I want to do is get my diploma and be done with school for a while. As a teacher, I think you're awesome. We are all adults here and should act like them , but some of us who I'm not going to name (Geordie) needed to be chased after to make sure they were doing their work, and despite the fact that we are adults you still did that for us. I think every assignment was explained very well and all the rubrics were very helpful. Five Stars :)

I don't really think my feelings have much changed. Although i may have slacked off a bit during the course i really pushed my self to get all my work in and complete this course. i think ive gained alot of my knowledge back that i had forgot about since the last time i was in an english course. i do believe this course met my expectations although i could of tried harder to prove myself and hand things in on time. I really enjoyed being able to do the research project i found out a lot of interesting facts that i had not known about on my topic. i am super happy to finally be graduating :)

This, to me, was an absolutely fantastic class. Jody, your curriculum and teaching style is top-notch. What I loved about the course was the topics we had to write about. I felt there was a lot about soul searching, which is something that I find a lot of us need to do. I love that somebody is actually teaching this.
At first, the only thing I hated was getting into groups, BUT, now I wish we were forced more into different groups so we could have learned more opinions. We tended to form the same groups over and over.
This course met my expectations and then some. I felt I learned a lot about myself. I also really dug a lot of the stories we read. Thanks for the great experience. I think I'm going to miss this class and everyone in it.

My current feelings about the course are similar to my first Blog. I found some of the work difficult but seemed to get through it. Jody as a teacher is awesome and is always there for help. Her goal to me was to make sure everyone passes. I'm looking forwards to this class being over and moving on in life.
To be Brutally Honest I HATE DOING BLOGS!! I think its more of a time consuming thing than anything.
I think i would have enjoyed the blogs more if there was more of a personal choice on my own topic. Make it fun
I Enjoyed This Class!

Please review your first blog and let me know your current feelings about the course. Please be brutally honest! I do take your opinions to heart when it comes to planning future courses. What about the course did you like? What did you hate? What have you gained from this course? What do you wish we would have done more of? Did the course meet your expectations? Most importantly, do you think that you met the goals that you set for yourself at the beginning of the course?
Looking over my first blog, I don't think my feelings have changed, I still feel like the environment that is set for this class is very comfortable and easy going, I think that helps you feel more confident and willing to do the work in class. I don't think I hated anything in class, all the major and minor assignments were pretty straight forward and i enjoyed doing lots of them.
What I gained from this course is more understanding of my strengths and weaknesses in writing and understanding of how to read a text. I also really enjoyed all the texts we read, one of my hobbies is reading and its hard to get a good book in these days but in class reading all those texts was kind of relaxing.
I wish I would have done less procrastination, because even though I got good marks on all my assignments I probably could have done better if I would have had more time to do them, instead of leaving some of them a couple days before it was due.
The goals I set for myself I feel I definitely met, I handed in everything on time and got good marks in all of them, I also didn't have to juggle so much with home life and my school work, everything played out very well.
I really enjoyed this class, thanks for everything!
