Looking over the last five months that I have spent in class I have learned new strategies in writing and more importantly thinking about the meaning of a story, music ect... and what message the auther or artist is trying to say. I enjoyed my time in the class and to have Jody as a teacher she is a very good teacher. Always willing to help. It's a great class.

Effective planning is extremely important in writing a good essay, thinking of an idea that is not only interesting to you but also how you can make it interesting for others.You need to take down the information that your essay depends on.Your essay can get really boring and full of nonsence if you put to much useless information in it. The Idea i thought of was currency, how did currency come about? From a simple idea it turned into a complicated but interesting history lesson. I learned alot more than i thought i would from researching my topic.I couldnt think of a good topic so i decided to do something that is involved with our everyday life which is very superficial but a necessity.

On monday's class I learned new ways to do research and how long it takes to find information that is truthfull, especially finding information on the internet. You can gather info very quickly on the internet but everyone has their own opinion and you have to do alot of cross checking your info. Doing a research project is very repetative but thats one of the best ways of learning.The best way to get the right info for projects is to search more than one reputable internet sight to make sure your getting the right info

I wish I stayed in school and graduated so I would not have to go through all these courses later on in life and make a busy schedule even busier.

Music is a very strong way to express ones emotion all though half of the music thats out there is just crap. It does not carry a good message and the music thats on top and played the most is usally the worst. Music is to commercialized now the videos just show how people should look like. The clothes they should wear, the lifestyle they should live. To bad its all about the money and being better than the next guy like its a competition. The artists should stop listening to all the ass kissing managers and producers and start putting out good music with good messages for kids.

The sentence I find interesting is from the song Old Man by Neil Young. (I've been first and last look at how the time goes past) So much can be said in just this one sentence. But to keep it short it's basically saying how fast life will pass you by. As a child we wish to be older so we can do what we want. When we are older we wish to be younger. When you feal like your on top of the world it can come crashing down on you. All the decisions that you make will have an affect on your life. Wouldn't it be great to have a second chance in life knowing the knowledge of having lived your life.

To prepare myself for the major assignment I will be useing the new skills that I have learned in doing the minor assignment. Doing a rough copy is one thing I have not done in a long time and what a differince it makes in the finale product. To make sure that I will succed im my assignment I will be practicing my new skills. Practice makes perfict.

For my representation assignment I used the story Burnt Toast. I was happy with my presentation of the story. It was about the fork in the road where the charicter has to pick which path to take. He can either take the easy path with the easy life or take the the rocky and hard path. I think I did a good job of presenting the story. I made good eye contact and answewred any questions that were asked. The part of the presentation assignment that I was not happy with was the visual representation. I rushed through that part and the 3rd grader stick figure artistry was crapy. Although anyone that seen it would understand what it was about.

A real life situation where you will use thinking skills is everyday life. Every day we have to use thinking skills, at home, at work and with recreation. You are always learning new ways of doing things in life. Remembering things you have seen or heard on tv, the internet, school, workplace etc... Implementing the skills you have learned in everyday situations and making the best decisions that you can in life.

The form of the Norhtern Snakehead storywas a news paper column that I changed into a sport fishing magazine rant. I picked the Northern Snakehead story because I like to go fishing and I think its everyones responsability to take care of the environment.
I changed the text so it would apply more to the fishing enthusiast then the genaral public.I changed the purpose of just informing people that this fish might be a problem in the future into trying to get people to take action before the problem gets out of hand.
The main idea stayed the same I just put more info about how this fish could distroy the native fish species if left alone. The language is easy and simple to read for young and old.

My favorite movie is Aliens its an older movie. It was released in 1986 and the director was James Cameron. The movie is jam pact with action and suspence. Their is no CGI in this film, everything is hand made working film props and hand made scale models. That makes it look realistic. The movie has a good story line continuing from the first movie called Alien which was also a good movie.

My first impressions of the class is very good. The class room is small but there is enough space for everyone. The parking is better then the Mcleod school that I attended a couple of years ago. The teacher Jody Ferguson is very nice and she teaches the class very well. She takes her time to explain the assignment so that everyone can understand.
Everyone in the class seems to be easy going and everyone gets along. I may not be there all the time do to work but I will make shure that my assingments will be done. I am looking forward to compleeting the class and moving on to the next class so I can get my grade 12 diploma. And then to RRC
