Before I get into this weeks blog question I just wanted to remind everyone that the purpose of this Reading Lab is to discuss the books that we are reading. . . . not to make a blog full of faces or to try to get people to guess your real name.
I thorougly enjoyed reading last weeks blogs and comments. Jugding by the responses most people think that Jack/Isadora will be the hero and that Dr. Shumway may be the unhero. It will be interesting to see what will happen as we read on.
For this weeks blog you will have two choices as to what to blog on.
First Choice---> I want you to think about all that we have read so far (up to the point where Jack and Isadora are at the train tracks). Do you feel that the author has done a good job at hooking the reader and making you want to read more? Do you think that the author should have introduced the aliens sooner? Do you think the author should have written more about the aliens. Again, with all of your answers make sure you provide details to support your answer.
Second Choice---> Based on our discussion yesterday, do you think that Commander Xaafuun is really Dr. Shumway in disguise? Look at all the evidence in regards to whether it is Xaafuun or whether it is not her. Make sure to support your answer with details from the story.

I do not think that Dr. Shumway is Xaafuun in disguise. She would be away to long from Izadora and she would have had to come out of the UFO when she was in another city. I do think that Dr. Shumway is the queen alien though. I find it suspicious that a scientist would jump to such conclusions with:
1. Not stating any evidence
2. Not even investigating
3. When the subject comes up, Dr. Shumway shoos it away by calling it nonsense.
