App

Guiding Light is an "augmented reality app" desined by Jaewoo Chung at MIT's Media Lab. It utilizes a wearable badge with magnetic strips to record fluctuations in the magnetic field of a certain location created by the presence of steel in building walls. These fluctuations are recorded by magnetic sensors and used to design a map of a building which is downloaded onto a Samsung smartphone. These Smartphones have built in projectors and can display an arrow on the floor which changes direction and leads the user to any desired location within the parameters of the recorded map.
