Netflix Builds Its Own Delivery Network

Netflix has built its own delivery network called Open Connect. It is a series of servers, routers, and fiber that sends Netflix videos to things like Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon Wireless, and AT&T Wireless. This is better, becasue it is more secure and faster. In this article, they discuss more about the delivery service.

This article in interesting to me, because I use Netflix on a daily basis to watch movies and t.v. shows.

Response: Teacher Videos

Article posted March 30, 2012 at 06:13 PM GMT • comment • Reads 96

Mr. M:

The videos that you posted were helpful, but I didn't really like the fact that you posted them instead of teaching us in class. I prefer learning in class, because then I can ask questions if I don't understand something. It is also easier for me to remember, because I take notes during class, so I can look back on them.

You are the first teacher who has posted a video on their blog, so this is a new thing, but I would still prefer to be taught things during class.

Super Telescope Will Search for Secrets of the Universe

There is goign to be a new telescope that may be able to detect alien life, along with other interesting things about the universe. Since we know so little about the universe that we live in, this is very important.

This article impacts me, because I have always wondered if there are other life forms on different planets. It will also be interesting to learn new things about the universe and other galaxies (along with out own of course).

Studies show that 51% of households in te United States own at least one Apple product. This is a big deal, because at the beginning of the 21st century, Apple was almost going bankrupt.

This article is interesting to me, because I have a lot of Apple products. It is interesting to hear that the Apple products are so popular in the U.S.

Nokia Eyes Tattoos That Talk to Your Phone

Nokia is thinking about coming out with a tattoo ink that can vibrate to alert you that your phone is wringing. An alternative to that would be a sticker or a badge that would also vibrate.

This is interesting to me, because I almost never hear my phone ring or feel it vibrate. Having a sticker or tattoo that could alert me would help me a lot.

Google Caught Skirting Safari Privacy Settings

Google has been caught letting advertisers track users in ways that are unintended, by bypassing the privacy settings on Apple's Safari Web brouser. Google tricked Safari into letting ads download cookies, which is bad.

I use both Safari and Google, so of course, finding out that Google let third parties download things on to my computer without my knowledge interests me.
