This article discusses how Google has acquired Quickoffice, a start-up that makes a set of applications for iPads and Android tablets that let people open and edit Microsoft Office files. This article is interesting because the technology possessed in the Quickoffice app is extremely interesting and with the correct backing in the form of Google the sky is the limit for this software, and quite frankly I hope this app hits it big because the technology is there and apps like this should be shared with the world.

This article is about Google’s plan to buy the social media platform Meebo for an undisclosed sum, the start-up announced on its Web site on Monday. This article is intriguing to me because like most NetGenEders I love social networking sites so I always yearn for the next big site to hit the web and shake up the world. With the support of Google maybe Meebo could be this next big thing. I anxiously await the future of this pairing.

This articles main focus is on the looming issue that Researchers discovered that LinkedIn’s iPhone app had transmitted users’ calendar entries; which included sensitive information; to its servers and stored it, without their knowledge. I was immediately drawn to this article because it piggy backs upon previous articles I have reported on, which discuss issues with the security of information stored on iPhones. These type of articles really hit home to me because I am an iPhone owner and I have countless pieces of personal information stored on the device.

This article discusses the halt in production of Cisco’s Cius tablet. The company states that this sudden stop in production is due to the simple issue of lack of sales. The halt came as a huge surprise to many because in the past Cisco has been a computer power and pioneer and now they find themselves obsolete and unsuccessful. I found this article extremely intriguing because we just finished up FCP and I was in the tablet computing group and I learned a lot about tablets leaving me to desire more knowledge on the subject.

This article discusses how Harvard and MIT have paired up to now offer online courses at little to no cost to the students. This article is so surprising considering the ongoing rivalry of these two educational goliaths. As one might expect these classes have been extremely popular with over 120,000 students enrolling since’ however they are also extremely challenging leading to only 10,000 students remaining in the program after March’s midterm exam. This article was so intriguing because I would have never expected Harvard and MIT to be the type of schools that would offer high caliber academic courses.

This article discusses the growing popularity of technologically produced prescriptions, over the old-fashioned hand written variety. It explains the endless positives to virtual prescriptions including the immense issue with the atrocious handwriting of today’s doctors. It illustrates how technologically produced prescriptions alleviate the risk of incorrect medicines and dosages based on the poor handwriting of physicians.
This article interested me because it includes both the fields of technology and the health field.

This article is about the effects of Apple’s increasing popularity on Microsoft. This article discusses that when all circumstances are taken into consideration Windows is doing far better than what is expected of them. In fact, Microsoft has recently exceeded its latest profit estimates and is thriving amidst this trying economy and Apple’s continued growth and success.
I really liked this article because I am an owner of both Microsoft and Apple products so I hope than can both succeed now and moving forward. I liked this article because its sole purpose is to convey both the success of Apple and Windows.

This article discusses the launch of a project that is intended to link the eastern and western hemisphere through implementing an advanced telecommunications system in Iraq. This article is so interesting and surprising because for years as a result of dictatorship Iraq has been isolated from the rest of the world and far behind in the field of technology. This extensive project would not only reconnect Iraq with the rest of the world it would also put them at the forefront of worldly telecommunications. This article is also intriguing to me because a few members of my family work in telecommunications and I have always found the field extremely interesting.

This http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/02/arts/02iht-design02.html?pagewanted=2&ref=technology">article discusses that Apple’s seemingly endless run on the top of the technological world may be over sooner than we think. It makes a fantastic comparison between how classical cars are nice to look at, but they simply are not practical, it asks the question of will Apple technology soon be placed in the same category as these cars, and be classified as nice, but obsolete.
This article caught my attention because I own and love my iPhone and the thought of it soon becoming obsolete really surprised me because every day I use it I love it more and learn something new about it, and it impresses me more and more.
