Intel Capital is looking to get its feet wet in the car technolgy industry, This automobile market is designated as one of the three fastest growing markets for internet conectivty and connected devices. Intel is beginning a $100 million venture capital fund focused soley on car tech. Some features Intel hopes to explore are gesture recognition, vehicle-to-x communication, social media application integration, and multimodal inputs, such as eye tracking, speech recognition, and gesture recognition. Most of the investments will most likey end up in countries with strong automobile industries, such as the USA or Germany. Intel has made their partnerships with Toyota, BMW, and other car companies public.
I find this article interesting because I am both a car enthusiast and interested in technology. I look forward to seeing what a technology powerhouse like Intel can do to improve cars around the world
