According to the Iranian National Computer Emergency Respons Team, the Flame virus (notorious as the most dangerous and complicated virus yet found) has been infecting the Iranian government's computers for years, raising the stakes on cyber-espionage. The Flame virus has in ints arsenal the ability to take screenshots and videos, illicitly turning on a computer's microphone and eavesdropping on conversations, keyloggers (software that records keystrokes, used to uncover passwords) and transferral or deletion of vital files.

In a reference to the popular RTS (real-time strategy) game StarCraft, Google added another one of their Doodles to their repertoire of interesting easter eggs. The new "Zerg Rush" Doodle creates a swarm of little "O"s that try to eat your search results--kill them or click on your search before it gets eaten!

The videos are really useful, but I haven't used them as often as I should. Since my grades are dropping alarmingly, I am sure to do so--but I notice, just maybe, the videos present information in a sort of roundabout way. It would be much easier to use them if they were a little shorter...

Robots have been getting better and better--but the Sand Flea by Boston Dynamics is certainly reaching new heights...literally. The Sand Flea is capable of leaping up to 30ft high, is capable of hard landings, and ordinary rolling movement, making it incredibly useful as a reconnaissance probe.

The prominent hacktivist (a portmanteau of "hack" and "activist") group Anonymous recently suffered a leak in their organisation, which some hoped would cow the group into submission. Unfortunately for the FBI, this plan backfired, causing a resurgence in the group's membership and activity, leading to many DDOS (distributed denial of service) attaks on the websites of multiple business the group deems "corrupt."

Flying in the face of both the Android and the iPhone's success, Mozilla (the company that created Firefox) has announced its new Smartphone OS, "Boot to Gecko". Gecko presents itself as a "Web-based OS" or an operating system that runs on the Web itself, using Web applications instead of having its own, isolated operating platform with its own applications to take up space.
