Alice in Wonderland Play

Article posted May 4, 2012 at 02:32 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 247

Our play, Alice in Wonderland, keeps on getting closer and closer! This play is here, at St. John Lutheran School on May 10th, at 7:00. We are all very excited and ready to preform! I am the March Hare and some of my friends are the lobsters, the flowers, the cardsmen, and the Mad Hatter!! The Mad Hatter and I are pretty tight, and we try to look silly on stage! I am the only 6th grader with a main part and I am so glad that my teacher encourages me as much as she does! I am so excited for the play and already have my funky costume. A very merry un-birthday to you! Unless it is your birthday, then I am really sorry about that! This play is open to all people, so if you want to come, you know when it is, and I will see you on the stage!!!

The Westing Game Book Review*

Article posted April 24, 2012 at 02:31 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 85

"The Westing Game" was not the best book I have ever read. The book did not seem to come alive to me, like "The Hunger Games" did. The characters were not realistic. This book was too mysterious. I couldn't picture what was happening. I don't think that Sam Westing should have had 3 other identities. Turtle was too young to play the Westing Game. Barney Northrup bothered me... he was the only person I could picture...YUCK! This book has events that would never happen. I don't have anything against the book, but it was just not my favorite.

To Be Caring For Your Pet

Article posted April 18, 2012 at 04:03 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 99

Yesterday,  I was on my daily run, almost home. I carefully pulled up the latch to the gate, tip-toed through the grass, and opened the door. "There you are Abby! I thought you were going to take Rowdy!" said my mom. Of course, I forgot to take my dog, Rowdy. His name says it all. Even though I was tired, I decided not to fight, and I took him for about 4 blocks. At the 5th block, I started to get tired. Before I knew it, I was releasing the leash and Rowdy was about to take off! I stepped on the side of his leash and he whimpered. "Don't like me pulling huh? Then don't run away Roo!!" Poor puppy. So we kept walking and then...

WE SAW YOGI! Oh no! Yogi is Rowdy's best friend and they loved to play together! Again, rowdy tried to run off and I grabbed him, "No, rowdy." I said. We finally arrived at our house and I carefully pulled up the latch to the gate, tip-toed through the grass, and opened the door all over again.

And this is why you never take your dog on a walk when you are tired! The End!

Typing

Article posted April 17, 2012 at 02:50 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 1362

I have learned great typing skills from sites such as

www.nitrotype.com,

www.typingweb.com,

and many more.

Typing is a great skill to learn today because this is how you can contact people or do assignments through email, texting, and writing essays.

I have learned that typing is a skill, and not just something that you do. I have also learned that I have a lot of this skill because I am one of my classes fastest typers, and all of my family says "Abby, someday you are going to grow up and do something great... INVOLVING KEYBOARDS." Of course I will mom. Hats off to ya, Dad!

Typing is something that you are going to need throughout your whole life, so it is a great skl

Menoring

Article posted April 13, 2012 at 02:50 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 428

Mentoring is very important and you need it to help you in life.

For example, mentors teach you everything that you need to know!  You never have to have one designated mentor. If you choose one mentor, they normally teach you one specific thing, such as math, sceince, launguage arts, history, and/or many more subjects. A mentor is like a counsler. One question to ask yourself before choosing a mentor is " Can I trust this person?" or " Do I need this person to teach me?"

Mentoring is a very important matter discussing your future occupations and ways of living. If you want to be a CFO, you should get a mentor for math. CFOs need math skills to count money and pay the checks. If you want to work at a resturant, you need correct grammar skills so that you can talk to the customers correctly. There are many more jobs involving different learning skills, so make sure you choose your best subject.

Mentors can also be tutors, not just teachers. Tutors are part time teachers that you can use to help you in school. There are many different tutors for many different subjects. My freind has a tutor that helps her with math, and now she is really smart! (not that she wasn't before) Now she is more brilliant than ever!!

Going Viral

Article posted March 13, 2012 at 03:31 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 62

Mr. Allocca talks about going viral in this video. The way something can go viral is by tweeting, or telling everybody about it. They will all watch it and it will go viral. The world needs to hear about how Catholics are in danger of losing their schools and hospitals. If they are not taught certain things, the teachers will get fired. If the hospitals don't learn more about this, they will get fired and the hospitals will start to dissapear. They do not believe in the things that need to be tought.

Techno-Magic

Article posted February 17, 2012 at 03:39 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 58

The I-pod video was really good because Marco Tempest turned 1 ipod into 3, and then he did sooo much magic with it. I think magic should combine with technology because it is so much cooler and seems more high tech. I love magic, but I like it even more with technology. The smart board video was so cool because the projecter made it look like Marco Tempest was drawing, but the picture was actually in the projecter. There was a little stick man that climbed up on marco's shoulder, and then turned into a bird and flew out of the picture. It was so cool. The projecter was so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so cool=http://

Shoe Tying: The right way

Article posted February 10, 2012 at 04:52 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 113

On the video by Mr. Moore about how to tie your shoe the right way, I thought it made sense because he is given the message out that is saying, "Even the littlest things make a difference in life." I think it is kind of like the video "Where are you?" because they are both saying that there is more than one way to do one specific thing, the right way or the wrong way, the short way or the long way, the weak way or the strong way.
