Dear Miss Mills’ Class,
I am reading a book called “Caring for Your Chinchilla” by Heather Hudak. It is a book, as you can plainly see, about how to care for a chinchilla. It includes lots of interesting facts about chinchillas, such as, they need a rock or pumice stone to wear down their teeth because the teeth never stop growing.
I think that book was quite surprising because of some of the facts in there like that chinchillas live, on average, about twenty years. Also I think that chinchilla babies are ADORABLE because they’re SO fuzzy and their heads are bigger than their bodies. My favorite type of chinchilla (out of the six types) is the black velvet chinchilla because it, apparently, is the furriest chinchilla (more hairs per square inch) and, in my opinion, is the cutest chinchilla.
Thanks For Reading,
Maggie W.

Dear Classmates,
I am reading a book called "Darth Paper Strikes Back! An Origami Yoda Book" by Tom Angleburger. This is a book about a group of stuents who put together a book of stories that will persuade their school board to keep a kid named Dwight in school. The school board wants to expell him and send him to CREF- the temporary school where kids who don't follow the rules go to learn how to behave. Dwight doesn't belong there.
I think that it was unfair of Harvey, a kid who tries to get Dwight kicked out of school, to come to the school board open meeting and speak against Dwight. Everyone has a right to be at school, especially Dwight, who gives really great advice about what to do in certain situations. One of the stories was particularily good in Dwight's behalf, called "Origami Yoda and the Body Odor in Wonderland", because it saves someone's feelings (Just in case you're wondering about the "Origami Yoda" stuff, Dwight gives advice thorugh this origami yoda finger puppet. Yeah ).
Your Friend,
Maggie
