SUESSICAL
Suessical
On April fourth our class and most of the school went to the musical called Suessical. It was at the Conexus Art centre. There was a group called “do it with class.” That put it on. The whole point of this play/musical was to learn more about the author and his books.
It was about an elephant named Horton. He was one of the main characters. He had to do lots of things like sit on an egg , protect a dust speck and lots of other cool things. I thought some parts didn’t make sense. I really liked it and found it entertaining because there was always some thing going on. Lots of dancing and singing. I really liked the script because I have read all the books so I kind of knew what was going on.
I really thought that they did a good job. There were very believable. They played their characters very to the best of their ability. I thought that they were very loud. If that was me up their I would never have been able to do it. They gestured and made sure they were on task.
They did very good on the set, they even changed when needed. They even had props like a flower. The lights were great, they always put them on the person that was speaking. They were very bright. You could see at all times. The make-up was very good. But I didn’t really like the costumes. I didn’t like them because they weren’t for the character. For ex. the elephant wore a grey suit but that’s it. The sound was good. You could always hear. The sound effects were good too. They were loud. I didn’t notice an orchestra, but there could have been one. I think the audience really liked it. They clapped and cheered at the end. When I looked around everyone’s eyes were glued to the stage. I really liked the play. I thought it was fun to see. I have read all the books but to see it in real action. It was cool. I hope we go to see some
