Suessical review

On April 4th 2012 we attended the “ Suessical ” because we had been talking about it in Arts Ed. It was at the Conexus Art Center and was put on by “Do it with class”. I thought the Seussical was really great and entertaining.
This play was based on many of the books written by Dr. Suess. This was a musical so it told a lot of his stories all in one along with singing, dancing, and more. I thought it was entertaining and fun to watch. The actual script was pretty cool because it took lines out of his book and was sang in songs or just said in the script. The show basically read the books in a fun way.
Wow their acting was great! It was like you were captured in a book and were watching the story go on. The things they did were pretty realistic, but some of he things got a little silly ex.- [ an elephant sitting on an egg] but I thought that was okay because his books are fantasy. Their gestures matched their script as well as their character.
The sets were awesome! I thought they could have been a little more creative for changing sets, but I think they did well. The lights I didn’t really pay attention to but I guess the were pretty good. Now my favorite part comes in, the costumes and makeup. I thought they were extremely bright and colorful. I thought the music was good .but I did think with out the music the play would have got a little boring.
I think the crowd was mostly excited to see it and had a positive attitude to what they are doing. All in all the play was pretty good and was a fun way to spend the afternoon!

What did you learn about Pink Shirt Day that you didn't know before?
To be honest I didn't know pink shirt day even existed. I think it is great that it does. One of the things I learnt about pink shirt day is it happens in a lot of places all around and it happens on different days.
Did you have any connections to anything you read today that you would like to share?
No I don't think I had any connections which I think is okay seeing as how I hadn't heard any thing about it until now.
What do you think needs to be done in schools to stop bullying?
I think every time someone bullies someone else the teachers should give them three strikes and once they get to three they should get expelled.
How do you think that you can make a difference?
If I see someone getting bullied I can not just watch them get bullied I can try to tell the bully to stop.

Do you think that this has changed how you will speak/act on a daily basis?
I never have used the word and I don't want to but I do think that people that have used it should stop because it really hurts people.
Do you think that this is an important movement?
I think it is because it make people so angry, sad, and offended that they will cry. It makes you feel like your not special.
What do you think you/our class could do to be a part of this movement in our school? Please explain in detail.
I think our class could make posters and banners telling people not to use the r-word and then we could post them up in our school. I also think that we could start a club where people pledge not to use the word.

How to make an awful salad

Step one:
Get out a bowl to make it in.
Step two:
Cut up some dog bones and liver and throw them in the bowl. You may grade up some moldy cheese but that is optional.
Step three:
Either buy some tomatoes or get them from your garden, but remember to go outside and rub it in a puddle to give them extra juice.
Step four:
You do not need lettuce for this salad.
Step five:
Toss it and add what ever dressing you desire.

I am absolutely disturbed by what they do to animals just to make humans happy. Why would someone want to test something they don't even know is good on a sweet little animal? Think about it, if you were an animal how would you like it if they forced cleaning powder down your throat and then an hour later you died? You probably wouldn't like it, so think about the animals they don't like it ether. The animals are like humans they don't deserve to be to be hurt. So, instead of hurting animals why not test it out on someone who is like 100 years old when they don't have much life left. Really do any thing so that animals won't get hurt and so that humans won't get hurt either!

My footprint size was a 5.6!
I think to reduce the size of my footprint I could:
Walk to and from school when it s warm enough. Then that would help with not so much gas going into the air.
I could turn off the water instead of letting it run. That would help to save water and water energy.
Turn off the lights when you don't need them on. That saves energy and a ton of power.
Walk and roller blade to the store in the summer time. Again that would help with gases.
Buy more freshly cut meat instead of the meat that uses all the preservatives.

Witch channel did you think was the most interesting?
I thought the black bears in their dens were the most interesting.I like going to the mountains and seeing bears so I found this the most interesting.
Did you see anything that was interesting or surprising?
No I don't think so I saw the bear switch positions a lot but I just thought that was to stay warm or get comfortable.
Why do you think they have chosen to document nature in this way?
I think they chose to document this because most people are scared of seeing animals up close, so this way they can see them but they know it is not harmful.
What benefits do you think this type of observation gives?
I think there is a few benefits to this,for one, people can see animals up close without scaring the animal ore scaring themselves.
What do you think they are trying to learn more about?
I think they are trying to learn more about the animals in there habitats without disturbing them.
If you could set up a live feed anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

2 Things you shouldn't do while jumping on a trampoline!

Today I'm going to give you about 2 things you shouldn't do while jumping on a trampoline!
1.Don't chop vegetables with a knife.
That would result to a serous injury to you or someone else. Plus the knife could fly out of your hand and stab the trampoline, then you would have a hole in it.
2.Don't give a surgery.
If you are jumping up and down while giving a surgery and you jump too high & your materials move, it could cause the whole thing to go wrong.
Please try and follow those suggestions and I guarantee you will be safer.

Based on the first few chapters,do you think you will like this book?
No,I know I will not like this book because I find that it is very boring and does not give me the least bit of interest.I find this book has no excitement and has a bit too much vomiting.
Describe how you might feel if you were in a similar situation as Brian. What would you do the same? What would you do different?
I might feel the same way as Brian and do most of the same things as him. The thing I would definitely change is when I am packing and getting ready to board the plane, I would use my head and take a phone or some way to communicate if something did happen.
Make some predictions about what will happen in upcoming chapters. Explain why you made them?
I predict that Brian's dad is going to start to worry and send out police and people to find him. When they do his parents will both be there and will hug him and kiss him. Then both of the
parents will look up into each others eyes and get back together.
I think this because it happens in all the movies.
4) What do you notice about Gary Paulsen's writing style? Do you like his writing so far? What would you ask him if you had the opportunity to interview him?
I noticed that he likes to have vomiting often in the story. More than often actually.I think his writing is very boring and the least bit interesting. If I had an interview with him I would ask him:
1. Why did you write this book?
2. how did you come up with your Ideas?
3. Do you like vomiting?
4. What were you thinking when you wrote this book?

Out of the videos you watched which was your favorite?
I really liked the "piano staircase"video the best because it was super cool and looked really fun.If I were actually there I think I would love to go up and down the staircase.It would be exciting and musical.
Do you think any of these would really work why or why not?
I think it would be hard to make a stair case that looks and sounds like a piano.But I think with a lot of work and participation it might be possible.
Come up with a thing that would be in the fun theory?
I think building a portal from your bathtub drain to a candy land would be part of a fun theory.It would fit in to that group because it would be fun to go through a portal whenever you're hungry!

What did you think about the video?
I thought it was really cool.I love watching slow motion things.I really liked the way the water formed a little splash/ring around the drop when it hit the water!I thought it was awesome how the one drop stayed on top of the water.

I think a high five would be awesome in slow motion because I have seen people do it before and it looks really cool!I think jumping jacks would look good in slow motion because at one point you would be up in the air and at one point you would be on the ground!I think washing the car would look good on slow motion because your arm would be going up and down and side to side.Around in circles too=http://

What is your favourite movie? I have lots of good movies but I would have to say my favourite movie is Harry Potter. I absolutely love them, they're so adventurous and fun! At times they are scary or can make you cry. But in the end they always come out with a good story.

Guess what today I am going to teach a recipe that you will never forget!!! GET READY!
Take out a bowl. Your first ingredent is 70000000 pounds of hot sauce. Second you need too put in 1mm. of water, no more than that (it will ruin the recipe.) Third you put a splash of vinegar and a pinch of cinnamon.
Put it in the oven for 7 hours and wait. When it is ready it will be extremely hot!! Don't wear oven mits just use your bare hands. When you take it out your kitchen should smoke up and your windows will shatter (I can't really pay for any damage.)
Last all you have to do is shape it and put food colouring in it. Finally taste it! (beware of explosion) and have fun!!!

Christmas time is around the corner! I am soooooo excited!! My family already has our Christmas tree and decoations up. I love getting into the Christmas spirit. My favourite part of x-mas is being with family and opening presents with family. Our family does lots of baking at Christmas. We make butterhorns,cookies,a little somthing for the teacher, and more!!! Christmas is a wonderful holiday and I think it is important to celebrate it=http://=http://!!!!

Something important to me is being able to play with my cousins! All of my cousins on my moms side are younger than me. They are all so cute and super funny! When I'm with my cousins we usually play Dinosaurs or Transformers! We play trucks and tractors and build forts. All my cousins are boys and they are the best cousins EVER=http://!!!!
