Personally I don't think any of this will happen but that's just my opinion, I could be completely wrong.

Last Blog Assignment (Betti

Article posted June 10, 2012 at 09:55 PM GMT • comment • Reads 68

For the last blog assignment  I choose the first option.  Betti is a very creative girl for example she was always creating games and stories.  She had a lot of friends including George.    At the beginning of the book Betti (who's name was Babo) was living in a circus camp with a bunch of "leftover kids".  But then she gets adopted by the Buckworths and moves to America. .  Also at the beginning of the book Betti thinks if she is really bad the Buckworths were going to sent her back or she was planning to run away.

But at the end of the book Betti decided America wasn't so bad.  But for the longest time Betti was convinced to run away.  Betti went through alot of changes during the book like her and George are adopted by  different families. Also at the end of the book Betti is a bit more normal.

Thats what I thought Betti was like,  Katie

Gentle Giant (PICFIC homework)

Article posted May 27, 2012 at 06:37 PM GMT • comment • Reads 102

For my PICFIC book i choose Gentle Giant by Michael Morpurgo.  The characters in this book are: Beastman the giant,  Miranda a girl, Mirandas father(not sure of his name).  The book is about a giant who is lonely and one day he sees this girl out on her boat, but she falls in and the giant saves her. the story is really about the giant swans that are in this lake, but then the lake goes all green and gross and they have to get all the villigares the help clean the  lake. At the end every one loves this giant and Miranda and the giant get married.  I wouldn't recommend it because personally I found it boring, but that's just my opinion.  I think the moral of the story was people come in all shapes and sizes and just cause your big doesn't mean you don't have a big heart.

So that's what I got from it,

Katie

Melvin Dewey

Article posted May 17, 2012 at 11:07 PM GMT • comment • Reads 133

Melvin Dewey is a librarian and he invented the Dewey Decimal Systen.  The Dewey Decimal System is a system that is used to classify books by grouping them in 10 categories. The Dewey Decimal System can by used to classify fiction or non fiction books.  The Dewey Decimal System gives all books a number then puts them in 10 different sections. I used the the folk and fairytale section (for pleasure)Here are some examples of fiction books organized by the Dewey Decimal System:

Folk and fairy tales-398 and398.2,    Riddles-398.6,      Poetry-811,       Plays-812
