Our Trip to Quebec

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 07:47 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 109

Our trip to Quebec was definitly one of the most exiting things I've done in the year 2012, it's hard to explain all that happened that week. I'll just start from the beginning.

The plane ride to Quebec was my first flight. So even though I couldn't see out the window (because it was an all night flight) it was still new to me, and a few of my friends as well. We took three planes, just to get to Quebec, a small jet to get to Vancouver, then we took a Airbus for 5 and a half hours all the way to Montreal and then we finally we took a small prepeller plane too Quebec city. (To be honest that last plane wasn't the best first flight experience I wanted, but at least we didn't have to pay for it.) When we landed at the Quebec airport we noticed that our luggage had been lost. Again not the best first flight experience.

Our tour of Quebec was interesting, educational and fun, even if most of us didn't have any of our stuff to last in minus thirty conditions and we went through an all night flight. I wouldn't recommend going through the sort of thing we did, especially the all night flight, that doesn't help at all. But besides that, I think the whole class had fun and took a lot of photos.

The Carnival was-if you tried to explain it all in three words-awesome, cold and expensive. But mostly awesome. I think I would've enjoyed it more if I had all my winter stuff, but thanks to Air Canada that wasn't a possibility sadly. For the most part of Carnival we just walked around and did some sight-seeing. We would've been able to go into the huge ice castle but as it turns out after six pm it turns into a night club sort of thing. So we continued on our way, some people bought syrup, which I have to say was really good. Then we continued to watch the parade, not my favorite thing because of how cold it was, but I would still recommend it to anyone who would have better snow gear then we did.

The following day we were on our way to Saguenay, the small town where the exchange was being held, and met our buddys or "twins". When we met them it was pretty much what I expected it to be, they were all waiting at the door ready to greet us. I have to say that was a little weird because we're supposed to be auto friends with them for a week, that part I didn't really understand. But we still had fun.

After that we did a whole week of ativities some with our "twins" and some without them, but I'd rather not bore you with those details. During the trip, I learned that I could speak French quite well in a fully French enviroment and that I could easily stay places far from my family for extended periods of time.

Thanks for reading! And comment for suggestions, I tend to miss a lot when I'm writing!

Super Human by Michael Carrol

The book Super Human is before the Quantum Prophecy series. It's about three teenagers who have to save the world from a plague and the first (and the most powerful) super human, Krodin. A group of people who want to pull Krodin from his time and bring him to the future created the plague, but it only affects people over 19, that's why the teenagers are the only ones who can save the world.

Personally I thought the book was awesome. If you were a fan of the Quantum Prophecy series than you'll love this book. I like books with the superhero style format. I hope you like the book as much as I did.

Privacy policys

In computer class we were told to check a few websites to judge which privacy policy keeps your information safe from third member parties because some websites sell your information to other companies so they can send you ads. Here are a few sites we checked:

Neopets: Neopets keeps your information safe from third party members when your on THEIR website. So if you click on one of the ads the as some as you move to that new website they may not have the same privacy policy as Neopets.

Candyland: Candyland may disclose your information to third party members, only if the company goes bankrupt and someone else takes over, or if they're are legal issues with that user. Hasbro may employ and share its customers personal information with entities who use solely to provide support for the internal operations of the Hasbro website (Hasbro, 2012).

Nabisco World: Nabisco World will not disclose our information to third party users unless the company is sold. And even if the company is sold the will try to keep your information safe. In my opinion Nabisco World has the best privacy policy. Those are the three sites that I visited and checked, I hope the information was helpful!

Web Café Works

I learned how be safe on the internet from Web Café. Here are just a few things I learned. Never open emails from people you don’t know because they could spam you or there could be viruses encrypted into the email. Another thing is that banks will never send you emails EVER, so if you see an email that says it’s from your bank then just don’t open it. If you don’t know what a website is or you want to check if it’s a reliable site then just put your mouse over the link and ask your teacher. If a link takes you to an inappropriate website then you should probably report the website to your parents. From my experience, Web Café was helpful and informative, thanks for reading!
