About the book

I read "Now you see them, now you don't" and "The Red Pyramid". Theese books are both very fast paced and about two children going across America, but "The Red Pyramid" is about Egyptian mythology and "Now you see them, now you don't" is about two children who are fugitives. I would recommend this book because it is easy and interesting, but it is the third book in the series: "On the Run". I do agree with the characters in the book, because as fugitives from FBI and local police, Aiden and Meg have to make difficult decisions in difficult times. I relate to this because the characters in "Now you see them, now you don't" use strategy in problems. I also have to do this.

Valentine's Day

In Fifth-Grade, a friend once lent me one of his best pencils when I had dropped and broke mine. It was not an ordinary day. It was the day of the standardized testing. I was looking all over the room for a spare pencil. I was then motivated to help others anytime they need help.

To Dominic L: I think what that kid had done was very thoughtful. To take the courage to help someone you don't know, is a real feat.

To Paul: It was VERY nice what that kid had done. He traveled an entire hour just to give a friend a present on Christmas Eve.

To Jonah: I think you have some great friends because when they asked you if you were feeling okay, that showed that they cared for you.

1. I am reading the book, "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riordan. I think the plot is developing the way I thought. This is because I thought that Carter and Sadie would be going across the entire world by escaping various dangers. In the book, they went to places, such as Paris, Memphis(Egypt). I also thought that Carter and Sadie would have some links to Egyptian Pharaohs. They turn out to be descendants of Egyptian Pharaohs, Narmer and Ramses. I thought that they would meet different Egyptian gods, and they met some gods such as Anubis, Sobek, and Nut. Also, I hoped that plot would leave a few surprises. These surprises include seeing fifty crocodiles in the Rio Grande River and when their cat turned out to be the god of cats.

2. I think that I would get along well with Carter, because he obeys ANYTHING that he is told by to do. One example is that he fought off twenty crocodiles when he only had a wand. Also, he was told to hide under a VERY SMALL piano and he did so.

3. The conflicts I predicted they would be fighting the antagonist: Set, in the climax of the book( which I am going to read soon). Also I think that one of their allies is actually a spying on the duo for Set.

4.I think the biggest connection to make is that the book blends the modern world with Egyptian mythology. One example is that the Egyptian Gods, such as Ra, Set, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys live and dress like modern people around the world. They also have their sources of power in modern obelisks such as the Washington Monument and the Cleopatra Needle in London.

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."

a, Curiosity is the act of questioning to learn new things. I think this means that it is a good thing if we keep asking questions. It also says that if we ask more, it will pave the way for a better and stronger future, by knowing more about the world. I could use this quote in many ways.

b,If I continue asking questions, it might help me very much in the future;in terms of knowledge that I acquire. This shows that the curious can get good lives. If a person has many ideas in his or her life, he or she should express them in some way. For example, I had read 'Animal Farm' and I was curious to know about the Russian Revolution, so I did a project for Social Studies Class.

c,There is more positive changes than negative changes. One day if a child asks a question that a teacher doesn't know, it can tempt them to research it in their life and they can possibly pursue a career that deals with the sort of thing that their question deals with.

d,This can impact the world because people can have better jobs and education. People questioned if there was ever a way to see things from their household. Then the television and computer was invented.
If people keep asking questions, advances in technology can be made. Steve Jobs(Apple Founder) asked many questions in his life which led to many of the modern technological advancements. His curiosity paved the way to useful gadgets such as the iPhone, iTunes, and iPad.
