Bullying is when a person is made fun of, teased, or hurt verbally or physically. Calling somebody a name, gossiping, cyber bullying, or making fun of somebody are all forms of bullying that I have heard of. A victim of bullying should tell a teacher, parent or, an adult that they trust. They should never bully anybody back. I can tell people to stop bullying when I see them bullying. I can help the people that I see getting bullied.

*About the Book*

I just read the book the Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It is nothing like any of the books I have ever read. I have never read a book that is about murder or from the view of somebody watching other people and talking about them. Although, it is similar to other books because of the vocabulary. The vocabulary is not hard, but not easy. The book to me is a very good book but very mature. I would recommend it to people who like mysteries. I agree with all of the characters because the characters all tried to find out who killed the main character. The book relates to my life because in my life, I like to figure things out just like the characters in the book.

"Believe you can and you're halfway there." Theodore Roosevelt.
This quote means that half of what you do is just believing in yourself. Work is the other half of what you do. Once you believe in yourself, you are on your way to completing what you are doing. This can apply to my own life because when I am doing a project for school, I can't finish the project if I don't believe in it. This could make a positive change in somebody's attitude. If somebody never can finish something, they probably just need to believe in themselves. This could change their attitude. This could make an impact on the world because if nobody believed in themselves, nothing would be accomplished in the world. The world would be halfway closer to success if everybody believed in themselves.

A New Year's Plea
Lord, let me stand in the thick of the fight,
Let me bear what I must without whining;
Grant me the wisdom to do what is right,
Though a thousand false beacons are shining.
Let me be true as the steel of a blade,
Make me bigger than skillful or clever;
Teach me to cling to my best, unafraid,
And harken to false gospels, never.
Let me be brave when the burden is great,
Faithful when wounded by sorrow;
Teach me, when troubled, with patience to wait
The better and brighter to-morrow.
Spare me from hatred and envy and shame,
Open my eyes to life's beauty;
Let not the glitter of fortune or fame
Blind me to what is my duty.
Let me be true to myself to the end,
Let me stand to my task without whining;
Let me be right as a man, as a friend,
Though a thousand false beacons are shining.
By: Edgar Guest
This poem is very forgiving because the person is begging for a good year this year. In a story that I have read before, all the person wants to do is be bad, but this person is trying to stay on the good side this year.
The person in this poem is trying to be a good person and to stay on the good side. That is just like me. We are both trying to be the best that we can be.
This person in the poem is what everybody in the world should be like. We should all want to do good things and to be brave and strong. We should all care about nature's beauty and how to treat others.

What Are About The Characters?

My favorite book that I have read this year was the Notebook. I really liked the plot in it. One character that I did not care for was Lon. He was rich and to me Lon was stuck up and selfish. If you made him less selfish, he would be a nice guy. I think that Noah represents a very down to Earth kind of person who absolutely loves nature. I do not think that this represents many people now days. I do think that Noah represents the author because the author seems down to Earth.

How to make a better grade

To get a better grade on the test, I definitely could have studied more. I think that if I made flash cards to study with, that would have helped me to memorize the mystery terms. I should have studied earlier than I did and i should have studied longer. I think that if I broke the definitions up and only focused on part of the words each night, it would have been better than trying to cram all of the words in one night. This would work better because I would be less stressed about it.
