Global Warming

Global warming is a very controversial topic. In my opinion, we are to blame, or at least we are speeding up the process. It has been proven that on Earth, temperatures have been known to rise and fall. This is why we have ice ages, then hot climates. We are caught in an inter-glacial period so naturally, because these events can be thought of as cyclic, the Earth will become hotter like it has been doing. The reason for this, I’m not sure but this has been an ongoing process and will continue. However, we are still at fault because we are, in theory, speeding up the process. The amounts of fossil fuels we have been burning are increasing and it is possible that by the fossil fuels we are burning are making the Earth hotter. This is due to the greenhouse effect and in brief explanation, the heat radiated from the emissions do not escape from the atmosphere and it stays locked in the Earth, therefor making the Earth hotter. So, although most of the scientists will say either that global warming is either cyclic, or entirely our fault, I think that the events are cyclic, but we are speeding it up.

Europa

Article posted December 5, 2011 at 03:28 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 85

Europa is a moon of Jupiter and is very different from the other moons of Europa. Europa is worth exploring because of its features. This is because it is covered by lots of ice. Some might say that this doesn’t matter, however it does. Many scientists believe that there is an ocean underneath the 10-mile thick ice. Water can also contain life, like our oceans and seas. Europa is 350 million miles from Earth. It was discovered by Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei in 1610. Something discovered that can make life more habitable are its shallow lakes. This proves that there is water underneath Europa. Although we have sent probes there, the moon’s temperature is very extreme; -50 degrees Celsius. Even if we were able to have a probe that is able to withstand the temperature, we would still be forced to dig to miles through solid ice. It was discovered through telescope.

All About ME!

Article posted October 25, 2011 at 12:25 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 777

Hi! My name is Simar and I love to play sports. My favorite sport is tennis. It is my absolute favorite thing to do. I also like to music, pop to be specific. I am also very interested in astronomy and what is the universe exactly. I like to question things like the Big Bang theory or dark matter. For some reason, I always have and still love Spongebob. It is my favorite thing to watch followed by Sports Nation and tennis. My favorite color is neon green, but for a specific reason. I like this color because I think it represents my personality; bright and bold. Finally, one thing I really hate to do is to read. I think of it as boring and time consuming. Thank you for reading my bio and hope you enjoy my future articles and photos.
