Mercury
If I could explore anything in space I would probably explore the planet of Mercury. I would want to explore this planet because it’s the closest planet to the sun and only one spacecraft has visited the planet. There is also some proof of water ice on the south and north poles inside deep craters. It is the second smallest planet in our solar system. Temperature on Mercury’s surface can reach 800 degrees Fahrenheit, but because there is no atmosphere, at nighttime temperatures can drop to -280 degrees Fahrenheit. Mercury's surface is like that of earth’s moon. There are many impact craters resulting from collisions with meteoroids and comets. It takes 88 days for Mercury to rotate around the sun and 59 days to rotate on it axis. Its 57 million miles away from the earth and has a diameter of 3.032.4 miles. Fun Fact: if you weigh 100 pounds on earth then you would weigh 38 pounds on Mercury! Galileo was the first to see Mercury through his telescope in the 17th century.
