Title: Na-Na-Na-Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye! (05/01/12)
Description: The past few weeks our class, along with fourth grade students all over New York State, took the English Language Arts and Math Assessments.

What advice do you have for next year’s fourth grade students? Please do not be specific about what was on the test itself, but think about what strategies and skills you had to use. Do you think that you were ready? Was there anything about them that surprised you? Do you think that tests like this are useful? Why or why not?

Make sure that you triple-check your blog and your comments for proper capitalization, grammar, punctuation and spelling!

***Remember that a blog is NOT a journal. What you write can and will be viewed by other people, so DO NOT put any sensitive or personal information!***

Just throwing it out there for the next 4th grade..... DON'T STRESS! Ok it was pretty easy. So nothing to stress about. But also be ready because if you don't study, you are in trouble. Oh and did I say... DON'T STRESS!

Fourth grade students, here is a tip- Eat a healthy dinner and go to bed early the night before your test. On the morning of your test, don't be nervous, bring two number two pencils with erasers, eat a healthy breakfast and do your best on the test.I think that I was ready for the test because I studied. Nothing surprised me on the test, but I was surprised when Mr. D. didn't give us homework.I don't think that the test was useful because it was too long and we all got tired.

Dear fouth grade student, you should not feel worried about the New York state tests. they are little easy and a little chalanging. I felt more focused than last year. I`m sure mr.dugger and mrs.chacko will teach you more. Good luck!

I think that the ELA and MATH NY state test was a littile hard but fairly easy too. The ELA NY state test was hard to read, for me, but the questions were pretty easy . And the  MATH NY state test the long responses were hard but the multiple choice was fairly easy.

I thought the ELA math test was kinda hard not that much but to some people it was "easy" but it was challenging because it took 3 days and it was like 2 or 1 hours and we did right after we did the ELA so it felt VERY HARD.

My advice for the next years fourth grade class is to be ready with good breakfast and sleep! The test will be fine if you listened to Mr.D and Mrs.Chacko because daaaaaaaaaaaaa they taught you enough for the test! I thought I was ready becuse again daaaaaaaaaaa Mr.D and Mrs.Chacko have taught me enough! There was nothing that really surpried but that the reading book 3 changed a little. NOT TELLING YOU!!!   I really don't know if the tests are useful but it was good. Let me tell you one tip don't tell anyone......." have a good night sleep and a nice healthy breakfast "(not like the one at IHOP)(Mr.D said) and trust me you'll be good and your brain will be ready to help you. And look I did it so you do it too!brain

All I have to say is⇒ GOOD LUCK,⇒ GOOD LUCK,⇒ GOOD LUCK!!!

My advice for the future students and beyond is that don't override your mind about worries for when you're taking the test.  Stay calm, and ch-ch-ch-check your work!  If you can do those things, you probably have agood score, but only one favor you little monkeys you need to do for me: DON'T LEAVE THE ANSWER BLANK=http://   Nothing surprised me, I was definetly ready for the test(thanx to my teachers! DDuhh.  that's what they're for.)  And fiWithout these, I don't know where any one of us would be then.

Next year fourth graders watch out for those tricky long division questions and sometimes they try to trick you with in and out charts. Sometimes you have to do more than one thing to complete the question. But I think we ready for it. There are things that surprised me, like they put a few multiple choice on the book two. I think they are useful because people can see how good your doing.

Hey Readers! As usaul I am doing a blog!As you guys know that I am in fourth grade and I took York state test! And now First, for the first fourth graders who are taking the New York State test it will be fine because you will take practice test.So you will be fine! And for the New York State test that I took was very very fair! And for me there was nothing suprizing to me because I think our class mastered the New York State test!I think the test was usefull. I think the New York State test was usefull because, you might be upset that you did not get to see your grade. You should still care about because when you go to collage they will see your grades and if you are the top you can might go to Harvard! It also makes your school the top and gives your teachers bigggggggggggggg moneyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://!

The advice that I would give to next  years class is do not worrie about the math and ela test just do best you can and read the passages carefully. I think that I was ready for the tests. The passages suprised me.  I think it is useful because you learn more stuff to get ready for it.

First of all, do NOT get stressed over them! There is absolutely nothing to worry about. For some advice , you MUST know your math facts, multiplication and division.A strategie you should use is that if the text says that legos are made out of jello, legos are made out of jello because have to use the text not your own knowlegde .A skill that you should be careful about if you don't have it is on the Math and the ELA is the language for example if they use tricky or more mature words not speaking a language other than English. There is one thing about this test that is totally different from all other tests is that you don't need to study.I promise, even if you don't study you will be ready because your teachers will prepare you, I know mine did ,I was totally ready. There wasn't really anything that surprised me.In my opinion the state tests aren't important. I think they're just to mak sure your teacher is teaching you the right things, so they're sort of like tests for the teacher.

I thought the NY state math test was fair and unfair at the same time.I thought it was fair because some of the answers were for my age and it made sense some of the time.I thought it wasn't fair because some of the answers sounded like 127,903+1111,6754 and it was really annoying after awhile but I got used to it.Also I thoght it was O K but its not like I'l run all the way to Abany and make a whole conversation trust me I won't do that TRUST ME.

For next years forth grade students I would say you don’t always need your ruler like last year and you might to remember all the facts you learned. I think I was ready for the state test because I thought it was easier then last year. I was surprised about there was no questions with a ruler needed for any questions, because there were questions that needed the ruler last year in third grade. ;)
