Hey! That's My Chair! (11/29/11)

Our class is now in the middle of writing our realistic fiction stories, using Peter’s Chair by Ezra Jack Keats as the mentor text. In this book, Peter's Chair is the story of a boy named Peter whose parents have just had a new baby. Peter walks around the house and notices that his parents are fussing with the new baby and painting his baby furniture pink! Peter's jealousy caused him to make a serious decision. He packs some things, including his little chair which he is determined his parents will not paint pink, and decides to run away.
Think of times in your life that you have been jealous of someone because of something they had. What were you jealous of? How were you able to control your feelings?
Imagine you were Peter. What would you have done if you had to share your belongings to your new little sister? Has something similar happened to you?

I wouldn’t give the chair because it’s not fair because it’s a memory of my childhood. I have a small red chair but I never would give it away. It’s the best chair I have ever had! I never had to give my small chair.

IF I was Peter I would feel loney because the mom was always taking care of the baby and have no time to spend with Peter.  $

I do have times I was jealous.My brother has two NBA posters and a watch. I was able to control myself.Maybe I will get one someday.If I was Peter and I had a new baby sister,I will give my belongings to my baby sister by giving my baby sister the one that are to tight for me.

When I was little I got so many toys and toys I always had so much fun playing with them
Until ............my brother came.my parents got clothes him shoes and other clothing he got a few Teddy's
but all mine??They became his I was so mad.

What would I do if I shared my belonging to my "baby" sister
I would go and give her not all the things I have, but all the things that seem worthless to me. Probably my toys that I had a few years ago, my pacifier, my bib, my highchaer, and my carseat. i would not give her any gaming devices, my candy, my toothbrush, or my books.

You know that book Peter's Chair? I am going to write about that. One time when I was in my cousin's house, everyone ws giving attention to my baby cousin. He had all the attention. So that is why I was jealous. I was able to controll my fealings by going into an emty room, play with my toys for a long time,and finally coming back to the room where my baby cousin was.So anyway I will type to you readers next time. Bye!

I was jelous when my brother got a laptop. I was mad but I found out we had a old lap top so I used that . If I was peter and had to share my stuff with my new sister I would be mad but I would get over it.

I'm jealous of my brother that he has a ipod
and i don't.I was able to control my feelings by thinking about my studys.If I was Peter I would try to ask my mom that I can have some of my sisters stuff.I have nothing similar to Peter's chair.

I once got jealous of my sister having a lot of sleep overs. I controled my feelings by trying to forget about it, and I did. Soon, my mom let me have a sleep over.
If I was Peter and my mom was painting all of my old baby-stuff pink for my little sister, I would be fine because I would be to old for the baby-stuff.

I can relate to Peter because, one time I asked my mom for a laptop.she said no.I asked her how old my brother was when he got his.she said 9."that's not fare I said I'm 9.I was jealous.
I would have let them paint my chair. And, no nothing really similar happened to me.

One time I was jealous was when my mom went Black Friday shopping and did not let me come. I usally hate shopping but it was at midnight thats why I wanted to go.I begged forever but I had luck.

I have a little sister. She might only be a minute younger but she is still younger than me. We have to share a lot of things. I really wanted an x-box all for myself but I had to share it with my sister. We don’t like playing the same games. When I have to share the x-box with my sister I sometimes get mad and frustrated when I have to stop playing to let her play.
