Spring Break

Article posted April 11, 2012 at 06:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 72

This is my blog post for Student Blogging Challenge week 5  spring.

For spring break my uncle and aunt came. My aunt taught me, my brother, and my dad some songs on ukulele. We all have our own ukulele so it was easy to learn. We decided to learn " Happy Birthday" to play and sing for my other aunt. My uncle and aunt did a tradition with us. Painting wooden eggs. Every year we paint eggs and add them to our collection. We have no theme it's just what you want to paint. Our other theme is we have a big family dinner. But this year was lonely my Opa died in November. Of course it was good but quieter and more lonely. That's what I did for Spring Break.

All about me!

Article posted March 14, 2012 at 06:49 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 17

This is my first post for the student blogging challenge, All About Me. Hi my name is A.O. I am a girl! I live in British-Columbia, Canada. I am 11 years old. My favorite colour is purple. In my family I have my mom,my dad,my brother, and my cat Fuzzy. Fuzzy is 11 years old. I am good at school and I hate it when my brother makes me play hockey! But I love volleyball. What do you like?

The things I like to do is play volleyball. I love to read my fav book is The Hunger Games even though i am still reading it. I love swimming and hanging out with friends. I am a good student and love science. My family loves biking and music. I play the violin and ukelele. My family all plays ukelele. My dad also plays guitar and taught me to sing. What do you like to do?

When I grow up I want to be a teacher and an author. I love helping and writing and of course teaching. I love to read books. My inspiration to write is the author Laura Ingalls Wilder. She wrote about her childhood and after she died her books we're found and only then  we're they published. My inspiration to be a teacher is all of my teachers. Who is your inspiration? What does he/she do?

I also enjoy watching my little bro play hockey. My and two boys are the cheer people. We have horns, flags, and our good spirited voices too. But I hate early morning games. I also hate really cold rinks. Do you hate anything about hockey games?

This is the end of my first blog post for  All About Me thank you for reading and please leave comments. And please leave the answers to my questions.

Simple Machines

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 07:02 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 2

Everything is or has a simple machine! Even your body has simple machines in it. There are seven simple machines the lever, the pulley, the wheel and axle, the incline plane, the wedge, and the screw. The wheel and axle is one simple machine. if it wasn't it would be useless. I thing that the screw should be a compound machine. A screw has an inclined plane and a wedge. That should mean it should be a compound machine. A compound machine if you didn't know is a machine with at least two simple machines. Some examples of compound machines are can openers, staples, wheel barrows, and lots more everyday things. Now you everything is or has a simple machine.

She and her brother are some of the only kids in England. Her mother joins the war wardens. they help get survivors. Eden or Edy for short must get her brother to the bomb shelter every time she hears the siren go off until the all clear sign. She is scared but not her fearless brother or her older brother and sister who are away from home with jobs in the middle of the war! What will happen? Will a family member be hurt or will it all be fine? You'll have to read it to find out.

Privacy Playground

I learned lots of interesting stuff on Privacy Playground. Here are some examples: NEVER enter something without looking at the privacy policy! Don't tell anyone your personal information if it' a person you don't know! Don't put personal information on the web like your name, your e mail,or other stuff without looking at the privacy policy and a parent looking at it! Otherwise your e mail might be sold and someone might show up at your house! And those are some examples of  what I learned on Privacy Playground.

Co-Cos Choco Match

Article posted November 23, 2011 at 07:48 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 63

I learned a lot on Co-Co's Choco Match. Here is some of what I learned: An advergame is a game website with advertising. Advertisers use mascots to make the product seem friendly. Did you know at six months kids start to recognize logos and mascots? Do you know why advertisers have contests on their websites? They do it to collect your personal information. And that is just some examples to help you to be safe online.

What I Learned on Web Café

I learned a lot on Web Café. Here are a few examples of what I learned. An important thing to know is to see where a link will take you press control then look in the corner of the browser. Only open an email if it is from an address you know. And my last important example is a bank will NEVER email you. And that is just a few examples of things to keep you safe on the web.
