Pennsylvania

This year the fourth grade learned about the fifty states. I studied about the state of Pennsylvania. One interesting thing I learned about the state of Pennsylvania is that one of the state parks in Pennsylvania has a beautiful bridge that you can walk and drive across. You can see many more facts about Pennsylvania by clicking on my glog to see it full size.

My best summer memory is going to the pool and seeing my friends. Something I am looking forward to this year is learning more.

People cut down trees in the rainforest. Because of that animals become extincd. Almost 100 animals die a day. Some people plant trees in the rainforest.

One way we are not alike is that they have six hours of school.  Another way we are not alike is that they do not learn as much stuff as us. We are alike because they also do soccer. Another way we are alike is that they go to school.

Cool Creatures of Borneo

There are a lot of cool animals in Borne. My favorite animal group is the primates. You do not see all the animals that we have in the U.S.A. Some animals are scary looking.

Rainforest of the Congo

In the rainforest of the Congo it rains about once or twice a month. Some people live in the rainforest of the Congo. People live far from each other. There plants are different from our plants.

The Presidential Seal

Article posted March 15, 2012 at 10:21 AM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 81

Here are five things I learned about The Presidential Seal:

1.The seal of the President of the United States of America is based upon the Great Seal of the USA.

2The Presidential seal pictures an American bald eagle holding a ribbon in its beak.

3.The ribbon in the eagle's beak has the motto of the USA, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," meaning "Out of many, one."

4.The eagle hold 13 arrows which stand for the original 13 colonies..

5.The arrows symbolize the acceptance of the need to go to war to protect the country.

Below is a Presidential Seal I created in Kid Pix.

Coniferous Forest

Article posted December 8, 2011 at 11:39 AM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 316

My diorama is an example of a Coniferous Forest. A Coniferous Forest is made up of cone-bearing and needle leaved trees such as pine and fir. These forests are usually found in areas of the world that have long winters such as Canada and Alaska. The needles on these trees have very little sap which protects them from freezing. Some of the animals you would find in a Coniferous Forest are owls, moose, eagles, and squrirrels. Coniferous Forestd make up 15% of the world's space.

Click on my diorama to see full size. I found my photos on the clip art  files from Microsoft Word.
