We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. K so i hate the msp right and of course we are having it right now and i totally just found out what msp stands for measurement of student progress o and did you know that MOM stands for Made Of Money. i am a blond so i am slower.
Kyleighf, can you make an argument to convince people that you are right? Just saying you hate it isn't convincing. Why shouldn't you take it? Why do you hate it?

I believe we should be aloud to text in class when we have nothing else to do. I believe this because teachers let us listen to music so we are not listening but then they say we can't use our phones. I don't think phones are ANY more distracting then an iPod. If there came a point when we were using our phones when we were supposed to be working then the teachers could simply take away our phones!!!

Persuasive paragraph
Listening to iPods should be aloud at all times. Sometimes music makes people focus better on their work. Some kids love music. Some kids are FINISHED with their work and shoul be aloud to listen to music! Listening to iPods helps me learn because music is my life.

I think this because most teachers let us listen to music, but then they say we can't use our phones! I don't think phones are any more distracting then an iPod because you can still txt on an iPod and listen to music! If anything iPods are more distracting then phones(now im not saying to take away or iPod privilages!) If there was a time when some one had there phone out when they weren't supposed to the teachers could just take it away or tell them to put it away! Its that simple! Thats why i think we should be able to have phones in class!:)

the thing thats important to me is a little bit of woodworking.
it is important to me because my grandfather taught it to me, and it is one of his favorite hobbys.
its helped me in life by learnining patience by waiting for the stuff to cut, or for the glue to hold.

Since both the Avengers and Ghost Rider 2 have been released, I (being the nerd that I am) has to go on a rant on why Ghost Rider should be in the Avengers. If you don't know Ghost Rider is a anti-hero that fights evil in the form of an insane flaming demon with a awesome motorcycle and a chain that, like himself, are on fire. The Avengers are a group of other primary Marvel characters consisting of mainly Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk. My reasoning for why Ghost Rider should be in the Avengers is that Hulk, who like Ghost Rider, is a hero who turns into something of a monster and goes on a rampage. The primary reason Ghost Rider isn't the Avengers is because he has a vengeance type thing going on, and that prevents him from being in the Avengers. Hulk is in the Avengers and also has a vengance type thing going on. Why isn't Ghost Rider in the Avengers even when a great amount of his fan base would probably like him to in the Avengers? I have no idea. You could say that the Ghost Rider has a much bigger mission in which he has to defeat the devil, but there's other villians for him to defeat in order to keep him in the Marvel Universe.

My mom taught me an important life lesson... "Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge them." This is important to me because everyone judged me before they even know me. *sigh* This should be showed everywhere. Ever since my first day at Chimacum I've been picked on and barely anyone has come to my help. I felt alone and neglected by my friends... but now that I've matured... This lesson helps me through the days I'm usually picked on. Thanks guys for helping me through my hard life. :'D

this is persuasive writing. students should have a personal blog from 6th grade onward. this is because it helps them communicate with the outside world. in all classes (except for maybe history or something...)it would help other people that read our blogs to learn if we made a post every period or something along the lines of that.also, blogging is fun. its definitely better than just writing on paper and pinning it up on a wall somewhere.
but blogging also has its bad spots. like hackers, cyberbullies, and what happened to one of my friends. internet immersion. thats whan your your life starts revolving around youtube, anime game sites, quizazz, and when your next computer time is. this was especially hard for me and one of my other friends, because we both have no internet at home whatsoever. i think shes still at it .
well that is the persuasivest blog i have ever wrote. and that is why students should have a blog starting in 6th grade. yep! thats it!

first of all, i think its REALLY annoying how NOBODY outside of chimacum blogs about stuff that is not required. and they ALL say the same thing, like they just copied it off the board.(which they may have..) and sooooo.... yeah thats it.
AAnyway, on to activity 3!
well i watched the digital dossier video thing. actually it was kinda creepy how ALL YOUR LIFE can be found on the internet. but i figured ou that i have like, NO digital footprint, because first of all, i have no facebook or anything, second, i have like ZERO internet access away from 1st period science and the library, and third, i googled my name and came up with a singer. so i am leaving like, NO footprints WHATSOEVER. but thats kinda good. yep.

I don't think the MSP has any help to the kids. Beacause the test is just using the kids to see if the school is doing well enough. If the government wants to see how the school is doing the teachers should get tested. They would get to know how the teachers are teaching and how they handle bad behavior and if they failed they would get replaced by state teachers. The number one school only has one test a year and less days of school and shorter days.

I think we should have I pods during class because it helps some people think. And if we have a phone because I know how you can't call some numbers in the school you would have to go to the office but it we where a loud to use cell phones we could just text them or call them. So I think we should have i pods and cell phones during class.

Okay so I'm writing a persuasive thingy.
I want people to stop hating. I've hated on JB, but then I realized,"I don't know this person, so how can I hate him? I don't like his music that's all."
And I see comments on YouTube videos telling people who like BVB that they should kill themselves, and that their fans are whiney. -.-" No doesn't that seem WRONG!?
And then my friends criticize the music / Like! Rock music makes me the ninja I am!!!! So stop the hating. It gets you NO WHERE IN LIFE! So just STOP telling people that the bands/people we like are stupid, weird, and terrible. Haters make them more famous!

I think we should have a personal blog all the grades up from 6 to 12 grade. I also think we should like have a class blog for all are classes. it would be very helpful to have a blog formall of are classes, say for like math we could blog about what we learned in math. I believe that we should be able to text in class , Because my mom's cellphone number is long distance so I can't use the school phone to call her and it might be the same for other people. Also , We should be able to text if were done working . But if people are using their phones when their not supposed to be teachers could take them away or give them a warning ! So , I would enjoy being able to text or take pictures in class , That would be fun !

I think that middle schoolers should get to read for an hour a day at school. This way students will be reading more often. reading is an important part of life. If someone was reading a book and it took them a month, they would appear very illiterate. Read ing is an everyday activity as well as a source of entertainment. Instead of playing video games students could read a book. I am so sad to see my peers who treat reading like a punishment instead of a privilege. There was a time when only very rich and very important people were treated to the art of reading and writing. We are lucky to be in a time were such creative and brilliant minds live. This is why I think that we should get to read for an hour a day at school.
