Friction Force

Article posted May 17, 2012 at 03:31 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1250

Friction is a force you experience every day.
Q1: We pulled a block at a constant speed across a surface.I learned in 6.1 how to set a spring scale. You have to put the scale on zero.In 6.2 I learned that it depends on how much effort you put in pulling the block to get different results. In 6.3 I learned that you can put the block on all different sides to get more results.
Q2: I just turned the block on all different sides.
Q3:I learned that controlled variables are very hard to understand.

What I know about Friction Force.

Article posted May 16, 2012 at 03:34 PM GMT • comment • Reads 726

When you pull the block across the course it has more friction. When you set the spring scale you have to put the scale onto zero. My prediction was that the more mass the blocks have the more force it will take to pull it.

You can double the rubberband .The difference between mass and weight is weight is lbs and pounds and mass is grams or kilograms. My definition of force is push and pull or gravity. Log out next time..

ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Article posted April 19, 2012 at 03:31 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 1021

WOW we use a lot of energy these days back then we only used 154 and in 2010 we use 964.
So maybe next time you turn on a light think about how much energy your using. To plug in a light or a lamp it takes up energy and we keep those on all day thats already a lot of energy and thats only one of the things we turn on in one day.

What I know about batteries? Bateries are used to power something. They can be used in a flashlight. Sometimes they can be used to turn on a light. We made batteries and it was really fun.

When I made a battery the light went on. The copper and zinc strip and blotter paper and the sulfate solution all make up a battery.

Scuds and other bugs

Article posted November 7, 2011 at 04:28 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1808

In our group we found scuds. Most of the bugs were dead and all ripped up so that was pretty gross. Whenever we caught a scud since they were alive it was really hard to take pictures of it because they kept going around in circles. Other than that it was really cool.

p.s Sorry I didnt put any pictures on

Yellow Jacket Creek vs. Chimacum Creek

Article posted November 3, 2011 at 04:20 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1784

Yellow Jacket Creek scored a 25 in the bugs we found. Chimacum Creek scored 21 we got that score because they brought some containers filled with water and we looked through the water with a spoon. Group 1 of the bugs was intolerant and it was worth 4 points. Group 2 was a little bit more tolerant and it was worth 3 points. Group 3 was really tolerant and it was worth 2 points. Group 4 was exttremely tolerant and those bugs were worth 1 point. We found a few live scuds but most of all the bugs were dead because the water in Chimacum Creek is cold and the water we had was warm because of the room tempature.

Water Pollution live or die

Article posted October 18, 2011 at 04:24 PM GMT • comment • Reads 2037

Water is very important. Without water we would die in less than a week. Have you ever wondered what water pollution is or what some of the consequenses of water pollution are.Or some things you can do to help prevent water pollution or even some things we can do to stop water pollution.
Water pollution is waste that is dumped into streams or rivers. When somebody dumps stuff into streams it can kill all te animals that are in the river. If that happened I would not want to go to the creek because it would be boring.
Some of the consequenses of water pollution are numerous diseases we do not want that do we. We could even get health problems that might lead to death.
Some of the sources of water pollutionare that people always dump waste in streams and rivers or using dangerous chemicals near water. So we shouldnt dump waste in rivers we should put it all in a landfill.
Some things that can be done to improve the quality of of water after it has become polluted is we can recyle milk jugs and throw away candy wrappers exc. We can go to the streams and try to pick up all the trash that you can see.
Some actions that can be taken to help prevent water from becoming polluted are to recyleand help to tell people not to dump stuff into water. That is a some imformation about water pollution.

I agree it Will rebuild itself because of all the cinder and ash will rebuild itself to what it looked like it did before the eruption. Then it will erupt again but worse than it did before.
