marcusa -- How many washers?

Article posted June 11, 2012 at 08:21 PM GMT • comment • Reads 3687

The highest number of washers lifted in period 5 was 9 washers. The configuration that would lift the most washers would be: using 3 batteries in a series order, 2 wires, short string, and, not completely sure yet, a nail, not pulley.

in this lesson i learned that u needd shorter string, ur batteries in series, 2 wires, 3 batteries and a nail. if u put it like this u can lift a lot more washer's.

Series
3 batteries
Nail?
2 wires
Short string/ distance : will probably be the configuration for the highest washers lifted.

Series,Nail,3 batterys, short string, and 2 wires would probably get the most washers lifted.

My team used series,nail,2 batterys, short string, and 4 wires and we lifted 6 washers average.

What was the highest number of washers our motors lifted?
We lifted a highest of nine.
What configuration of motor, batteries, string, wires, etc. accounted for the highest numbers of washers lifted?
We need to put our batteries in series, have three batteries, put the string on the nail, have two wires and have a short string.
Can this lift more than nine washers?
It should be able to lift more than nine washers.

The range of how many washers we lifted was 6-9 but my team (g2) got 5 for 3 batteries.

To lift more than 9 washers:
Series
3 batteries
Nail?
2 wires
Short string/distance
Complete circuit!

When I added more batteries to our teams circuit, the more washers it could lift.
My hypothesis was correct because 1 battery lifted 1 washer, 2 batteries lifted 4 washers and 3 batteries lifted5 washers. something would change is going slower so the washers don't fly off amd hit you in the face. I liked doing series because the washers lifted up faster!

Series.
3 Batteries.
Nail.
2 Wires.
Short String/Distance.
Motor.
The reason i wrote this is because, we are doing an experiment with all these things in science! The experiment is to see how many washers a motor/pulley can pull up! My groups motor/pulley pulled up 9 washers! Do you think it could pull up more than 9??

in this lesson we were studying number of wires, and 2 wires worke best.

the best arrangements were:
series set of battery
3 batteries
nail
2 wires
short string

the most washers any of us we could pull was 9.

erinc -- How many washers can the motor lift?!:)

THe motor we used lifted up 8 for series and 2 for parallel because that was our manipulated variable.(parallel vs. series)
